View Full Version : Tournament player looking to be staked

Hey all,

I don't know if you know me.. but I'm KiD[ReD] from PokerStars. I'm looking for somebody to stake me in tournaments, for a 70% return on all winnings.

I'm not looking to be staked in ring games, as I am a much better tournament player than I am in ring.

Now - why am I looking to be staked, and not pay the tournaments myself? I'm sure you guys already know the benefits of both staking and being staked. I'm also about to move out right now so keeping money is important at this stage for me. Also, I currently play $10-$50 tournaments, but it would be nice to play more $50 regularly, and perhaps some $100's+ (The first $100 I played in a couple of weeks ago I bubbled the final table).

As for accomplishments, I don't play a wild number of tournaments, so my tournament accomplishment range may not seem tremendous. I play maybe 15-20 a month on average. It depends if I'm heavily into poker during that time or not. However, if staked, I'd definitely be up to playing a lot more.

As for reputation, I commonly see the same people at the late tournaments of the stages, and maybe they will recognize me.. people like BCinNY (who always happens to be on my table in tournaments.. lol), CarribbeanKid, spankmenow, tekk, etc.

I also own and run the popular PokerForums.org

Here are some screenshots of some placements:

I'm looking for a reasonable amount of stake money - enough to give me a chance to show my worth, and allow me to play tournaments on a more regular basis... thus anyone wanting to stake me for just a couple hundred dollars, for example, is really not what I'm looking for.

Any questions, please ask.

Two spams for the price of one, that's impressive.

Wasn't the purpose of the screenies to impress potential stakers? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry, double bogie.

I am totally against spamming, but I personally don't find a post such as this as spam. I am not spamming out referral links or sites - I am just interested in playing in more tournaments.

Cheers

Thank you. Your words are most generous and I take them to heart /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, strange screenshot I know - but it shows that I am interested and not afraid to play in higher tournaments. BTW, I lost that tournament AA vs KK all-in preflop :P

30% fee pretty much to support a player that most of us are probably in the same league as most of us. UHHHH...NO

I realize you didn't come here to be critiqued, but is your shorthanded play up to scratch? Whilst you have done very well in the examples you posted, you haven't shown us that you've ever won a tournament. You seem to get very close to the big money and then crap out.

Just my 2 cents.

Not to try and be a nice guy and a bad guy all in one but you said your poker forum was making thousands per month.....you're selling another site which is at $3,000 now....

Looks like you have plenty of bankroll to me.

Hi Crix,

Fair question. The best place I got was second. I made other final table apperances, but never placed 1st. I've played a lot of SnG's, and a couple of months ago recorded my ROI of my $30 SnG's, which after a sample of around 115 of them, I had a 22% ROI. It was around 30% ROI at 90 games, but then I started to do poorly.

Anyhow, I'm pretty confident of my shortgame ability.. I thoroughly enjoy SnG's and tournaments to ring.

Absolutely. However I did mention I am in the midst of moving out on my own for the first time. I could use that money I'm selling off one of my websites for a bankroll, but then I'd have to delay moving out. I'm sure you understand this /images/graemlins/smile.gif

LOL

I've played like 250 SNGs in the last week, you sample size is laughable.

70% you mean... I keep 30%.

post this hand history for this tourney and i will consider staking you.

this would prove your integrity.

if you can't post the HH, then your integrity will be in question and that's not good for someone looking for a backer.

I'm sure there have been people who have played 1000 SnG's within that timeframe... I do not understand the point of your post...

get a job you bum. nobody comes onto this forum to hear from 15 year olds who lose all their money playing poker and want more. nobody in their right might would ever stake you. especially given what you said about SNGs.

Your ROI is meaningless, doesn't prove anything.

115 SNGs is not a significant sample size, it is not enough to know what your ROI is. 500 is getting there. The fact hat you said you were 30% through 90 but dropped a little over the next 25 games is just ridiculous.

Nobody is forcing you to stake me, and I wasn't looking for a loan. I'm looking to be staked. If you're not interested, don't reply. Easy. I hope not everyone on this site is so oppressive...

first of all, i'm about to PM you regarding something. HOWEVER, this site is not oppressive. it is critical. people don't come here looking for stakers and backers because it is generally not allowed here. point is that you need to be able to take some heat.

if enough people want this thread shut down, you are out of business. so act like a businessman and just ignore the comments that make you angry. it won't help the cause to fight. trust me, i know.
