View Full Version : Question on the play of AA preflop

My question is with the last bet I made preflop. My original thought had been to push here since both opponents had already contributed 5 dollars to the pot each. Because I was first to act on the flop I instead decided to reraise to 10 with the intention of pushing on any flop. I figured that they would certainly call 5 and this would increase the amount I was likely to win. My question is whether it is more +EV to play the hand the way I did or to push it all in preflop. On the one hand I am increasing the amount to be win with the better hand and pot commiting my opponents. On the other hand I am possibly making it correct for them to call preflop but only call the flop if they hit it. The converter does not show this but I did go all in on that flop.

ur reraise to 10$ preflop should be a warning flag to them, i doubt very much they'd call an all in preflop unless they saw a flop. i wouldn't be surprised if he had TT or JJ, an overpair on the flop is a lot more tempting to call an all in with than preflop is, at least in my opinion.
