"Check are 5 year records"

So what you are ahead (slightly) after 5 years, we'll see how you are doing after 18 or 20.

Besides, you are suppose to be the best player in the league and your team is 3-7 and you cant even polish Mr. Rice's rings.

I dont even think you are the best player in the league. No way I'd take you over Michael Vick. Now thats a player, and Im not even a Falcons fan.

Please. Moss is the biggest waste of talent in the NFL. He will never come close to Rice's career records. He's at best the 3rd best receiver in the league.

There is no way any GM would take Randy Moss over any of the following:

1. Brett Favre.
2. Marshall Faulk.
3. Donovan McNabb.
4. Marvin Harrison.
5. Terrell Owens.
6. Michael Vick.
7. Ray Lewis.
8. Brian Urlacher.

That's just the list of names that come to my mind thinking about it quickly. There are probable more.

The Packers Brett Farve has only won once in the Metrodome an in the 11 games Randy Moss has played against the Packers and Farve the Vikes are 8-3. So who's a winner ?

I have to agree. My list of top players would go like this.

1. Farve
2. Faulk
3. Vick
4. McNabb
5. Owens
6. Ray Lewis
7. Derrick Brooks
8. Manning
9. MOSS
10. Warren Sapp

Who cares about head to head regular season games. Who's got the rings?

If he's so good, why does his team only have one more win than the expansion Texans?

You can talk about his stats all you want but winning games, making the playoffs, and winning rings is what's important.

And if you want to talk about stats I beleive Marvin Harrison just set the record yesterday for fasted receiver to reach 600 receptions. And he has 89 on the season, Randy doesnt even have 50.

Ryan,

Do you realize you are probably responding to your "friend" Jerry using one of his many aliases? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Ryan 21 you perplex me with your displeasure and disgust over Randy Moss, I thought you if anyone would like him do to the fact that he lives the THUG LIFE! Either your a thug lover or a half a thug lover, which is it?

How can Randy ever hope to be greater than Jerry Rice, when he is in his prime and isn't even better than the 40 year old Rice right now?

2002 YTD

Rice: 66 rec., 846 yds, 5TD
Moss: 62 rec., 764 yds, 4TD

Not even better than a 40 year old man!

Obviously you dopes have never watched a Viking game. RM is used as a decoy and he makes Bennett and Pepper and all the rest much better. Remember how great he made Chris Carter look. Carters nothin without him

Rice would have never got those rings w/o Montana and Young.
If Moss would play with Favre or Montana or Young he' have 150 catches a year. Learn what the games about.

Cater was recognized as one of the best in the NFL long before Moss got there, genius.

Yeah, I figured it was him, thats the only reason I took the time to berade him. Hey, if he's gonna do it to me, I'm gonna get him back. lol. The funny thing is I like Randy Moss, but he's not a top 10 player in the league anymore. I just wish he wouldnt waste his talent and be such an *sshole.

So you are telling me Rice's QB's are what helped him get all those records? Well if thats the case Randy should be doing better than he is now. I mean seriously, isnt Dante Culpepper suppose to be the "prototype" quarterback of the new Millenium? Montana and Young were never good enough to be labeled as a "prototype"

"RM is used as a decoy and he makes Bennett and Pepper and all the rest much better"

Yeah, "much better" thats why they are 3-7 right. He sure is making the others better.

Montana and Young were never good enough to be labeled as a "prototype"

Comparing Culpepper to Montana or Young is ludicrous. First of all, like Moss, Culpepper isn't among the top 5 at his position, much less in the league. Furthermore, even among his own 'generation', he's behind McNabb in nearly every aspect of his game - most importantly winning.

Montana was, in fact, considered the "prototype" running QB with a phenomenally accurate arm. Of course, that label is pretty useless. The bottom line is that both Montana and Young have far more rings than Culpepper will likely ever see.

"bottom line is that both Montana and Young have far more rings than Culpepper will likely ever see."

No doubt. I wasnt trying to compare Culpepper to Montana or Young in any way, just saying that he was considered a "prototype" coming out of college, so the original poster can not make the claim that Moss doesnt have a good QB throwing to him, thats all.

No doubt.

Randy had 9 more receptions ysterday ,sometmes with triple coverage after Bennett was hurt. The guy can't do it alone. Will be exciting when Vikings play Atlanta to determine who's a better athlete. Randy Moss or Micheal Vick

On third and 20, Moss took himself out of the game because he was tired, leaving his team with no deep threat.

On the last play of the game, which was a desparation hail-mary type pass, Moss jogged two steps off the line of scrimmage and stopped.

He has admitted that he takes plays off and only plays hard when he feels like it, then defended that attitude. Only a complete loser would have that attitude (and only an idiot would admit it).

Randy Moss = DOG

Moss not only isn't one of the best, he is bad. His attitude hurts his team, and his selfishness and lack of effort degrade from the vikings. I don't think that any GM would even want to introduce him into their system. He does more bad than good, and even if you take away his attitude he's still not that good, droppin 3 td passes in one game is unacceptable.

At least you included a couple of defensive players. My list would be comprised of at least 50% players on D. At the top of my list would be Warren Sapp who IMO is the MVP in the NFL this year so far (teamate Derrick Brooks is also having a great year). How about offensive lineman would they ever appear on such a list?

B-Man
11-26-2002, 09:36 AM
Defensive players are definitely very important. IMO, Ray Lewis (when healthy) and Urlacher are the best linebackers. Sapp is tremendous, so is Brooks, but I am not sure many NFL GMs would take them over the players I listed in my top 8.

I wouldn't take Randy Moss in the top 20.
