View Full Version : Stats Post from a "successful" LAG

I'm not 100% sure what a good sample size is, so I put "successful" in quotations. It appears successful, but could just be sweet, sweet variance.

All these stats are from Party's NLHE game.

There are enormous holes in my game. Massive. But I feel pretty comfortable at this level (against bad opponents). My roll can withstand it, but I'll often have +/- $200 swings (8 buy-ins) in a single hour. It's quite a bit more stressful than LHE play, but my returns have thus far been better (better than the best 20k sample of LHE).

I have a tendancy to suffer more, emotionally, when I've had a large downswing and it hasn't been the result of suckouts (including people getting correct pot/implied odds to call me down): but more if it's been either big hand vs bigger hand, or people trapping me / calling me down when I'm bluffing. I'm pretty much unaffected by beats, but sometimes I have to take a break after a few bad ones or big ones.

I've probably played 60k or so LHE hands and have never done this level of analysis.

I'm going to just post the stats here, and then, in standard fashion, reply to my own thread with my thoughts about them. Please feel free to chime in with any ideas. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

**Question about Folding to steals: is the fold BB HU a subset of the fold BB stats, or do the fold bb stats consist only of when you're being stolen from, from either the button or CO, but not SB?**

Fold SB to steal (45 hands): 77.78%
BB (83): 61.45
BB HU (54): 62.96%

**Question about "blind defense": Does this mean when I just call?**

-Def SB (10 times): fold 40, win without 40, went to sd 20, but never won
-Def BB (32): f 28, w w/o 56 went sd 15.5, won there 80

Attempt to Steal: 25.77 (143/555)
no flop and I win 53.85, fold 14.69 win w/o sd 78.32, went to sd 6.99%, won 40%.

won when saw flop: 33.69%
winrate: 15.47 / 100
went to sd: 19.48%
win at sd: 50.77%
standard deviation in winrate per 100 hands: 60 bb

first action after pfr:
raise: 7.21%
bet: 52%
call: 2.33
check: 8.27
checkraise: 0.14

-f: 5.07 (raise 7.06, bet 24.35, call 6, check 32, fold 29.96)
-t: 3.98 (r: 4.83, b: 27.12, cal: 8.02, check: 36.38, fold: 23.66)
-r: 1.66 (raise: 2.68, b: 18.24, cal: 12.64, ch: 44.94, fold: 21.51)
-total ag (no pf considered): 4.02
-total ag inc pf: 1.21... pokertracker doesn't think I'm aggressive. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

fold to river bet: 66.58%

when fold: pf(75.84) f(8.72) t(2.78) r(1.34) n/a(11.32)

I checkraised 46 times, with that being 65% flop and 35% turn. None on the river.

**Something funny in this section: I thought that my UTG pfr and UTG pfr first would be the same... but it isn't... sometimes there would have been posters ahead of me, I guess. /images/graemlins/smile.gif**

You can safely say that you are successful after 20K hands. You guys are ridiculous with your sample size.

I don't consider you a LAG. 19 % VPIP is not Lag in my opinion. You are a TAG. I'm no expert but LAG is more like 30 % VPIP I think. I have a 16 % VPIP . I don't consider myself LAG. Why does everyone want to be LAG ? I make fun of LAG's on the tables at Party Poker. Or I try to start verbal fights with them. Just did so yesterday. 15 BB/100 isn't bad for 20K hands. I'd be happy with that. Are you 4 tabling ? That's good for 4 tabling .

My total aggression factor is .52 . I guess I'm pretty passive but I'm winning. ??
Here's why
Preflop
.08
flop
2.5
turn
3.0
river
1.86

I'm penalized big time for preflop. I like to see flops I guess. I would say that you are leaking chips big time with all the raising and continuation bets if you are playing .10/.25 NL . Just my opinion, though. I guess it depends on how fishy the game is. That is why I see flops with A J rather than raise and make a continuation bet. Fish can't let go so I make sure I have something.

I noticed that you are extremely aggressive on the flop then it declines to the river. I'm semi-aggressive on flop then I'm most aggressive on the turn then declining on the river. Question is, are you happy with your stats ? If you are, then nothing we say is going to do a damn thing.

re: redpills posts
------------------

You're right that this isn't quite LAG... but it's certainly approaching LAG, when compared to the 12 vpip 4pfr guys that post their stats.

I don't know too much about stats, so I'm not sure if I'm happy with them. I like the winrate. I am multi-tabling. What sort of winrate can a single-tabler expect over 20k hands (before he dies of old-age that is)?

There's a checkbox near the top of the stats screen that says "include pf numbers in total ag" and remove that checkmark. It'll make you feel all warm inside when that pf number drops off. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Fish let go a lot more often in this game than in LHE, which is where I come from... and they fold plenty there too: Some examples I posted a while ago in the microlimit forum (link) (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=micro&Number=1976760&F orum=f21&Words=fold&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Main=197 6760&Search=true&where=sub&Name=15618&daterange=1& newerval=1&newertype=y&olderval=&oldertype=&bodypr ev=#Post1976760)

Figured I'd see what hands are profitable for me (keep in mind, tiny sample size, so I may be getting them disproportionately oop, or against ops with good hands, etc.):
-------------------------------------------------

KK @ 7.26 bb/hand (105 hands)
AA @ 6.82 (82)
A7s 4.72 (64)
KJs 3.58 (44)
AKs 3.45 (51)
88 3.25 (79)
A8s 3.05 (65)
76s 2.31 (48)
Q7s 2.21 (50)
ATs 2.07 (61)
AQo 1.87 (172)
77 1.62 (102)
33 1.60 (86)
TT 1.56 (71)
A4s 1.55 (59)
K2s 1.45 (52)
44 1.44 (96)
KTs 1.42 (50)
A5s 1.18 (57)
99 0.99 (96)
T9s 0.82 (55)
AKo 0.77 (181)
K4s 0.73 (74)

J4s is listed here, but I checked my stats and it was the result of a good blinds hand and many many folds. As such, by looking at my stats in the big blind for general hands, I can conclude either that suited cards are profitable for me in the big blind (that the losses come from offsuit junk?), or that this is a statistical blip and that it's unprofitable for me, even in the BB. However, I've been playing Q7s voluntarily, which is interesting (but probably not good).

86s 0.64 (56)
97s 0.63 (71)
JTs 0.62 (52)
66 0.59 (85)
22 0.51 (70)
JTo 0.47 (174)
KTo 0.41 (188)
A6s 0.30 (52)
ATo 0.20 (164) (I'm losing quite a few big pots and winning lots and lots of small pots with this hand, as well as a few medium to large pots.)

K7s 0.20 (54)
J9s 0.14 (52)
QJo 0.11 (165)

KQo 0.05 (183) I'm disappointed with my results for this hand...

J8s 0.03 (55)
KQs 0.01 (67)

K6s -0.73
K9s -1.02
K5s -1.07
A2s -1.08
T8s -1.11
55 -1.55 (I think this is a stat blip: I lost 2/5 on a set on a ragged flop vs top set 9's (he pfr'ed), and some douchebag called me down with ace-weak-kicker on an ATT board when I was betting hard at him for the other 2/5)

I like the PT autorater, so using that you'd be a Tight Aggressive/Aggressive (TAA) and get a "Money Bag" icon in my players list (VPIP < 20, PFR > 5, TAF(not including preflop) > 3.

According to the default autoratings, you are close to being "Semi-Loose," but definitely TAG at the moment. So, the fact that you're winning, just shows that TAG is a good way to play. Nice.

You're probably right, sorry about that.

I'd just seen a bunch of 12vp 4pfr stats posts recently, and got the impression that those stats were what people were playing.

That being said, I'm still going to take a peek at these stats, try to figure out a few things.

if you find yourself at 12 you need some testicular fortitude. the lowest flop seen % i've heard anyone super successful have is 15-16%. i prefer to run closer to 18-20.

The successfull LAG's i know say their GOAL in a session is to see 40% of flops...

With all the nut peddlers post 12%vpips the definition of LAG is relative.

my 33% higher then that and I still think I could loosen up on the button.. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
