Isn't gamboholic_ supposed to be a SNG whiz? I thought I remembered reading about her here, but I'm not sure. The reason I ask is because she joined a WSOP step table I was at. I didn't want to play with a shark, so I left.

gamboholic is ok...There are better players you would watch out for above her.

thinking about gamboholic scares me now, that picture that nutzrealbig showed me of her was way off from what I pictured her (a hot asian chick like Evelyn Ny)

Is she really a chick? I figured her to be a dude. For some odd reason I think most of the "woman" at partypoker are men.

Gamboholic is very good IMO. Likes to get all-in or fold really early though, much earlier then we tend to preach on here. Plays a style of poker great for the WSOP step (first or go home). Because gambo likes to push real early sometimes you can hurt her by limping in some big hands, but you'll have to catch her with something like AK-AQ or AA-TT.

That said, I dont get up the minute gambo sits. Just a very solid sng player that will be very aggressive when its time to get aggressive.

I don't understand? You can hurt her by limping because 4% of the time she will push preflop?

well, she def. changed her style a lot from winter break 2004, but back then in the 200s, she was prob playing a breakeven style, (pushed utg 1000 level 3 25-50 9 handed) yuck...

but strassa2 hit the point, her style fits a structure like the wsop, because if she makes it past the bubble, she's usually the chip leader...

I dunno. Back when i used to play all day with gambo he/she/it would tend to push lots of hands when people limped in front of her and would not come over the top with them if you raised. Hence limping in some big hands made sense because gambo would go all in with 1000 at 15/30 blinds with a limper or four.

Gambo was definitely not a breakeven player when I was playing them a lot. Both gigabet and I had her/it/him top 3 in ROI.

well maybe, in my pt, I played her 125 times, -50ish roi...

Bot or not, she seems to just follow a move in system for pre flop play. The "strategy" works particularly well for the winner take all wsop steps, so I guess that explains why she hangs out there often.

What are people's estimates for how often she sees a flop? Maybe 1 in 5 tournaments?

For Strassa or anyone else...What do u think about the Gambo is a bot theory?

Pete

gambo's play is nothing special....seems pretty predictable to me.

Haven't read the entire thread, but my guess is the following:

1) low finishes in higher WSOP steps prolly spinoff level 1 buyins.

2) it may not be her actually playing the game, and if it is, I really doubt you need to fear her, as she is likely uninclined to care about the results or her play.

Also...Gambo's a lot better now. Like, a *lot*. But moving in PF a ton is still not optimal play and never will be.
