I belive the value bet is the right play. Your on party 2-4. The 8 could not hav hurt you. Unless they had A8 and were taking one off on the flop. On a PARTY 2-4 game I would value bet this every time you will be right more than 50% of the time. There isn't much chance you will be raised since he would have probably poped you on the turn if the first 8 completed a flush or a straight.

the 8 doesn't concern me, it's the king with the preflop raiser
