There is no freeware version of PokerTracker. There is, however, a 1000-hand demo you can try out. You'll have to purchase it if you want to have more than a 1000 hands in your DB though.

If properly used with GameTime+ or PlayerView, I'd say its about as good of an investment to your online poker profits as your internet connection.

I agree with your sentiment, but it's a great tool even without PlayerView or GameTime+. PV and GT+ just take PT's data and make it more easily viewable.
