When I try to run my pokerstars program,I receive the message: "Unable to establish a connection to the server".
What's the possible problem?

If other programs are working, try uninstalling then installing again.

I keep getting this message when I try to open Poker Stars:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

I have uninstalled/reinstalled it 3 times today alone. I'm stumped, anyone else have any ideas?

It's working fine for me today.

Your specific error is often related to firewalls blocking you from accessing the updates. Email support with your problem.

This problem is often caused when using Windows XP, when you are logged into a non-administrator account, making it impossible for you to download the update. Email support with your issue.

figured out my problem.

It was running pokerstarsupdate.exe

I deleted the update so it would just run pokerstars.exe It wokrs fine now. However will this lead to probelms? Anyway, finally able to get back on.

You won't get new updates if you do this, which may mean that your client program doesn't work that well. If that fixed it, the problem is almost 100% certainly a firewall program.

I had the exact same problem and emailed support and they helped me find the solution.

My problem was that I am running Norton Internet Security and somehow under the firewall pokerstars was changed to block all instead of permit all. Now everything is fine though.
