If you lost to a set he sure didn't defend it well vs the flush draw...seems like maybe AKs, missed flush, tried to buy pot?

I'd call the River also. I usually don't like to commit my entire stack on an overpair, but this is Aces. He could have a lower overpair. The pot is offering you 3:1 odds. I'm guessing you're better than 3:1 against to win. And this is the tough part of poker for me - just what are the odds that someone has you beat when they go all in here. If I know the person I use my knowledge of him to sway the decision. But when you don't know the person the question really is what does the average person at these limts do. I haven't been in this situation 1,000 times at this limit so I don't really know the odds.

I really did not feel at all in control of this hand. Playing an overpair on draw heavy board out of position is just not something I am comfortable with. I felt like I got myself committed to the hand when he villain called the flop because if he is on a draw (not at all unlikely with that board) I really hate giving a free card. But if I bet any reasonable ammount on the turn, I am pretty much committed on the river unless maybe a spade falls. Of course there is also the very real possibility that I am pumping money into a straight or set or even two pair (though 2p I think would have raised).

How am I supposed to play this type of hand? Am I doomed to putting all my chips in if I don't get raised on the flop and a blank comes on the turn?

Dude, you played this perfect, every single street.

A set or 2 pair should raise the flop because of the draw possibilities, so its a good bet villian has an open ender or 4-flush, and is also an idiot with no concept of pot odds. And you must check/call the river.

Was that the kind of table that would normally get 4 callers with a 3BB Preflop raise? If so, I would have raised more before the flop. Any more than one or two callers increases your chances of being cracked exponentially.

That's the only thing I do differently.

If a table is raising a lot of pots I will limp in with Aces or Kings UTG or UTG+1 counting on making a huge preflop reraise - I love that play - but it can be risky.
