Starting hand question for Limit O8

sometimes complete and sometimes raise., based on the information you didnt include. which might mean you are overlooking things in your decision making process.

Definatly a good point.

I was playing a microlimit online game which was very loose (average 5-6 players seeing the flop). I had only played about one and a half rotations but the game seemed very passive postflop with few raises at all and three bets being practically non-existant.

One problem with raising out of position is that many of the fish will switch off after the rock raises preflop. So if you like the flop many of the fish might fold for the small bet and if you check it might get checked out and the fish might not even call the turn bet after the free card. Being the super rock in a loose O8 game presents some interesting problems in attracting action if the fish are even moderately aware. My current strategy involves raising pre-flop with any decent hand in late position and folding early to try to get people used to the idea that when I raise I might have junk. When I raise out of the blinds I just try to dog it on the flop and hope they forget I raised by the turn and have them call when I bet into a late position flop better to start a betting war.

Anyone got a alternative rock strategy to attract action?

To be honest I severely doubt that than more than one or two players at the table had a clue about how I played preflop and probably wouldn't even care if they did notice.

As an example, the other day I was playing Holdem in a casino and was havn't a very long run of bad cards and was throwing away hand after hand. The person to my left commented several times about how tight I was. I finally picked up pocket tens UTG and raised. The person to my left commented about how I hadn't been playing any hands... and then cold called my raise. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
