Working off a bonus at NL ring games. I feel like I am playing better ever since I focused on getting my SNG game tight. Played a MTT, seemed to do better in the final table thanks to my SNG experience.

Seems like SNG's because they are focused short term events that combine the skills needed in other games are turning out to be a great training ground for other poker formats.

The one glaring exception is the lack of post flop play in a SNG. I play at UB and stacks are big enough for some post flop manuevers but not much and Party even less so.

I guess the other risk would be that SNG players might be PUSH CRAZY and that could be a dangerous leak in NL ring games.

I think they're good training too. Imagine the edge an SNG specialist will have on the final table in an MTT -- if he ever gets there, of course.

Same thing with short-handed play. 5-max and 6-max can really improve your play in ring games.
