No i don't like your play here.
I think it is possible that you did not have the best hand.
I would have folded on the turn here, but it worked out well.

Sorry about that, just could not help it.
If you were going to try to steal the pot why did you not bet on the flop when he checked to you?
Maybee also try a steal preflop(Possibly not a good idea at a 10$, i don't know how much people call there..)It depends on how much he has been completing in SB earlier, and how much raising you have done from the BB.

I'm still a learning player, but here's the thing...
I RARELY use a stopngo type play... It seems like all my action has been preflop. I'm trying to find a few good spots to bluff at flops that are likely to miss.... So my question is, basically, was this a crappy spot to try this move?

Yes, i think that this was a bad spot to choose this line. You are risking much more to win the pot than by simply betting at the pot on the flop( sure you also win more). But, then again it depends on how you read your opponent.

I would never make a move like that without a strong read on villain.

I like it. Plays like this work great against the type of player who frequently min-bets/raises as long as you don't over do it. I also think you can probably get away with a smaller river bet, 800 is basically the same as 1000 here but those extra 200 chips could be important later.
A case can be made for raising the turn, but you don't want to get reraised and have to lay down your hand.
To the poster that wonders why not just bet the flop, thats a fine play as well. I probably bet the flop most of the time when the SB completes then checks the flop, but sometimes I'm happy to check. In this case the Hero was probablt just looking for a chance to fold his 32o and didn't really consider betting until he picked up the draw.

I dont like it actually. I would bet the flop (about 500). Against most 33 dollar players and less, this is a clear +ev play, unless you have some strong reason to believe otherwise.
They can see all the possibilities preflop, but if they totally miss the flop they can't find an excuse to play anymore, you are going to take it down well over 50% of the time here guaranteed (Trust me I've done it enough times to know this), meanwhile you can do this by betting about 50-75% of the pot.

Curtains;
I'm going to make the grand assumption that if my steal bet on the flop is called, Villain isn't going anywere and I should just check it down? What if he calls, then checks the turn? In this situation, he would give me a free card; so I'm guessing I should check and see if I get a lucky river?

As compared with firing again on the Turn? Yes. If you bet 500 on the flop and he calls, you're done with the hand barring a card you really like on the river.

Yeah I give up when they call me. But really, just try it and take notes, and youll see how automatically +EV it is to just close your eyes and bet when they check to you.
