I found these numbers from yesterday, disturbing:

24-hour Average 10954
24-hour Peak 19102

Edited: Those numbers were referring to Partypoker only.

Not too long ago they had 60,000 player peaks. Didn't they?.

You're looking at ring game stats only, add in tournaments and ST's and voila. Also, they count play money players as well which constitutes a large portion as well.

Thanks. I don't understand your numbers. They don't add up.

Which is right: The axis numbers or the footnote numbers?.

Thanks man. That must be it. I didn't count tourney players.

Wow. Tourneys are twice as popular. Time to learn that properly!.

OK. You talked me into it. Give me $1.82M, and I promise I will only play for fun.

The footnote just shows the starting point of the graph, not really sure why that is needed. Nice graph though.

So you don't see anything wrong?.

Is the correct number of tourney players ~25,000 (graph) or 3634 (footnote)?.

Is the correct number of ring players ~20,000 (graph) or 4948 (footnote)?.

How long is a piece of string?. Tip: Not long enough.

Thanks. I wasn't counting tourney players, and that was a big part of it. Your numbers include non-money players correct?.

This thread and the original question are now... an irrelevant mistake...

I panicked too early.

I believe it's not the starting point but the latest, or current, number. This is more useful, and usually very close to the beginning point as well.

The WSOP is later this year, by now we would have all the wonderful fish playing. The fish from last year now realize they are fish and have quit or worse....started reading poker books.

Once the WSOP airs again we will get some more fish. Give it time.

Do universities have finals tis early? Mine were like the first week of May. Seems early to me?

Well, it's the last week of April right now so I'd say it's pretty normal.

It had 70k seats filled including play money seats I believe.
It didn't have 70k players.

Edit: Waffle's stats seem accurate.

"Hi there support,

I am curious as to how you calculate the number of players online figure.

Is this the number of seats taken, or the number of players online, even if they are not seated?
Does it include play money?

Thanks for any reply.

Lorinda"

Let's sort it out once and for all, I've made about three different guesses myself and seen several others /images/graemlins/smile.gif

When I started playing online there were 4,000 at party at the peak times and the games were still very beatable. Online poker won't die anytime soon, it just might be harder to find the good games.

People think that if there is 40,000 players playing instead of 70,000, the games suck. How many tables do you need?

As long as I can find 4-8 good tables at my limit I'm happy, and this has never been even close to a problem.

My 2 cents.

Online growth last week = 2.11%, 4 week poker growth = 6.3%
Party added 12.6% week over week, but mainly do to people clearing the bonus
