View Full Version : Things You Like Spending Money On

theBruiser500

I love spending money on good food but that is so common. Massages are great. Paying people money to do crazy stuff, i.e. me and a friend just payed someone $100 to take 1/4 a shot of hot sauce called "100% pain". I just touched it to my tongue and it was too hot for me. How about you guys, what do you like spending your money on?

Food a lot, and also going to bars. Random things that I see which make me feel wealthy at the time to be able to buy, but stupid for later. I have poor impulse control.

I honestly don't buy anything else, Danny. I don't buy CDs. I bootleg. I don't buy DVDs, I bootleg. My poker books come from Stars FPP store. Although I did recently buy my mom a new computer desk and us both leather computer chairs. All of my poker profit goes into my bankroll for higher limits.. one day I aspire to be Danny Jr. playing the $25/$50 NL game.

Me too, although as a poor college student, my definition of splurge is going to be pretty different. Taking the girlfriend out for a $100 dinner is nothing to a lot of you, for me its a splurge. Probably going to get a flat pannel tv this summer, if for no other reason than I don't want to lug my 27" tv back to college in the fall.

Household goods.

Decent pots and pans, nice set of cutlery, kitchen island, digging around antique stores for some chairs to match my 1940's era dining room table. (It's in decent shape, needs to be refinished)

Yard stuff: flower beds, grass etc, all needs work.

You want plenty of stuff to spend money on, buy a house.

Green fees. Fortunately, it is possible for a decidedly mediocre poker player to generate enough cash flow in low-limit online games to support an unhealthy golf addiction.

[/ QUOTE ]

Clothes and grooming products.
Everyone will see those things and think you have money.
But also, you'll look good, which ain't a bad side effect.

Most people know nice cars often just mean big fat debt, not money.
Gym membership means you care about your health and/or appearance, but you might not have money.
Bar tab is not cost effective. If people think you have money, they'll run up that tab really really fast.
Catered party is just silly. You'd have to have it in a really nice, expensive house with all sorts of cool accoutrements that "prove" you're wealthy (like a bar stocked with high-end liquor and a bookcase filled with 1st editions, maybe a coi pond...). It's not cost or time effective.

But the real question is, why do you want people to think you have cash? You'll prolly just attract the ones who want to take your money.
