Do you always HAVE to call when you're given 3:1 odds with only a shortstack pushing into you? This call may make you a shortstack as a result of losing such and such hand.

We'll assume the raiser (who's allin isn't a rock).

Now, let us assume he is a rock.

It isn't theoretically impossible, but here is how far you have to go.

blinds 150/300
BB - 1300
SB - 525
BTN - 2500
CO - 2000
UTG - 1650

folded to SB who pushes, you are getting 3:1.

Folding and calling are equivalent $EV choices if you have 72o and you put your opponent on JJ+, AQ+.

If they push with any other hands, or you have any other hand it would be $EV to call. In this situation, the rock of gibraltar would push with a lot more.

If you got silly and said they would ONLY do this with a PP, then you would need one overcard.
