I have decided to add eating a meal here to my life goals.

Please, someone who's been there, tell me it's as good as it looks here (http://www.bernssteakhouse.com/bs_frame.htm). The 27 page menu (http://www.bernssteakhouse.com/admin/editor/upload/bshmenu.pdf) is really one of the most amazing things I have seen.

That menu is awesome. I love that you can order basically a raw slab of beef.

It's unbelievable. I've been to most of the top steakhouses in NYC -- Luger, Sparks, etc. -- and the beef at Bern's is right up there.

The wine list is even more amazing -- it's about 300 pages long, and looks like a Bible. Even if you're not a wine guy, do some reading up beforehand and try to order a unique bottle.

Also, let them know that you'd like to have dessert upstairs in the special "dessert room" -- they have like 50 excellent old vintage Ports available by the glass, and a wide array of flaming desserts (cherries jubilee, etc.)

It's not cheap, though.

Didn't notice your avatar at first -- you'll definitely appreciate the wine list. They have a great selection of Rhones (along with most everything else) and some really nice Rhone-type Aussie wines.

I have eaten at plenty of good steakhouses, and Berns is by far the best one I've ever been to. I cannot exaggerate how good it is. Best.

Holy crap.

They need to open one of those in LA...I don't think I'm going to be in Tampa anytime soon.
