Here's what happened.


It's the morning after the Nichol mansion rager and neither Ryan nor Seth are in the mood for Cheerios. Ryan thinks his brother is a lot of things, but a drug dealer? Nah. Seth reminds him about a little thing called a confession but Ryan thinks he was just protecting Marissa. And he thinks that because he was about to jump in and do the same thing. Seth concludes that the compulsive need to rescue Marissa Cooper must be in the Atwood DNA.

Sandy arrives with Trey, who confirms Ryan's theory. Unfortunately Sandy doesn't think gallantry is going to play well in front of the judge. Ryan and Seth make a plan to go undercover in a high school sting operation.

Sandy calls Kirsten at work to let her know Trey's back in the pool house since he's been released into his custody. Kirsten's ok with it but assumes this means she should cancel their trip to the wine country with Carter. He can write the winery article himself. But Sandy doesn't think Carter's going to be by himself. He was planning to invite Erin. Really?

Seth approaches Summer in the student lounge and hands her two tickets to Death Cab by way of an apology for not telling her Reed was a she. Summer is momentarily placated until Zach mentions that Reed has already scheduled a note-giving session for that same night.

Ryan and Marissa are on campus doing surveillance. They spot the good-looking polo-playing, senior Kyle Peters, who is apparently known as the "go to" guy when it comes to drugs. Oh, and here comes his girlfriend Jess Sathers, the pretty blonde who almost drowned in Caleb's pool.

Carter stops by Kristen's office and mentions that he left Erin a message inviting her to join them in the wine country. But after not returning his call for a week, she left a message saying she doesn't think it's a good idea for them to see each other. He doesn't get it. He thought they really hit it off at the Cohen's dinner party the other night.

Marissa approaches Jess at her locker and asks for help getting "hooked up." Jess heard the infamous story about Marissa's weekend in T.J. and agrees to introduce her to someone at the Death Cab concert later that night.

Seth and Zach make the trek out to Silverlake to get notes from Damon, a hip marketing genius who's supposedly going to make them really famous. After hearing his notes, Seth wonders if he's going to make them really famous for being the worse comic book authors ever. Oh, and Damon's planned a meet and greet party for the following night to introduce Seth and Zach to directors, musicians, animators, etc. Oh, and they want to meet Little Miss Vixen too!

Back at the Cohen's, Sandy takes Trey through the night of the rager. The police report has an eyewitness who claims she saw Trey and Jess enter a room and close the door. Trey admits he thought the two of them were going to head back to his place later that night but next thing he knew she was lying face down in the pool. And while he never saw her take any drugs, it was clear she was on something.

Meanwhile, Julie's planned a party for two at the Nichol mansion but Caleb's not in the mood. He can't get over the "incident" and he's called his lawyers.

Marissa finds Jess at Death Cab concert. Jess hands her a map to a party that's taking place later that night. A friend of her's will be taking orders. Cash only.

Back home, Sandy's bogged down in Trey's case. He suggests Kirsten head up to the wine country with Carter for the day since there's nothing she can do to help. Ok, she'll be back by dinner. Great, she can bring the wine.

Sandy and Trey track down the judge who'll be presiding over Trey's case at his favorite eatery. Sandy tries to get him to cut a deal but since none of the other kids at the party have so much as a traffic ticket, there's not going to be any deal.

Ryan, Marissa and Trey approach Sandy with some news. They know who the dealer is and they think they can get the proof. Tonight.

Julie drops by Lance's motel and tells him that as of tonight she and her girls are out on the street. Lance tells her he knows a guy who can get some pills and switch out Caleb's medication while she's out of town. He's old. No one will suspect a thing. Julie can't believe he's serious. But she gives him a kiss before heading to her car. And somebody happens to catch that kiss on film.

Back at the winery, Kirsten and Carter have done too much wine tasting to drive home. They have no choice but to take a suite at the hotel.

Julie returns home and when Caleb sees she's shedding real tears, he tells her he'll give their marriage one more chance.

At the polo party, Marissa and Ryan are inside while Sandy and Trey are staking things out from the car.

Meanwhile, back at the vineyard hotel, Kirsten tells a freshly showered Carter that she needs to go home. A disappointed Carter goes to get dressed.

Jess leads Marissa down to the beach to meet Kyle, who happens to think she's cute. So, he's charging her sixty instead of eighty for the order. Ryan alerts Sandy, who calls for reinforcement.

The police, along with the Judge, show up and arrest Kyle. who's in possession of the drugs. The judge promises to dismiss all charges against Trey.

After the party, Ryan and Marissa drop Trey off at his own place. Then they kiss for the first time in a long time. But Marissa thinks they can do better than the front seat of Sandy's car. They head back to the pool house.

Trey enters his place and finds Jess waiting for him. Why didn't he turn her in too? Well, he likes talking to her. Well, with Kyle out of the picture, they can do a whole lot more talking. Interested? Definitely.


Next week, the gang at OC get a visit from an old friend
