THIS thread is going to be the central point for the weekend of June 18-19. Here's the list of people from the other thread who have mentioned they'll be there that weekend:

There were a couple of others who said maybe for that weekend, so respond to this list if you're in. And of course those on the list are hopeful that some of the Vegas locals/legends will be able to make it out for a night (David, Mason?).

Some of the things to be discussed I think are:

- Where/when for a big 2+2 gamboooling night. Of course people will be around all weekend, but maybe designating one night/location for low limit donking would be worthwhile. Al Capone Jr. indicated he might be able to help set such an event up?

- A 2+2 dinner gathering of some sort?

- Golf? If you're interested in playing, PM me and I think I'm going to go the e-mail route to organize that, to not bog down this thread.

Anything else you can think of.

Mrs. Nolanfan and myself will arrive at noon on Friday the 17th, and leave on Monday the 20th at 9-ish.

I'm still in the "maybe" camp, as my attendance is heavily dependent on how I do over the month of May. At the moment, I'd say I'm 70% likely.

If I do end up coming, I'd be flying in late Friday night (9-10ish) and flying home Sunday night (9-11ish).

I'd be interested in splitting a room at the Bellagio, Wynn, or Mirage (sounds like these are the places most people will be?) on Saturday the 18th if there's anyone still thinking about going. Otherwise I may end up doing the VTDHOC (Vegas Two Day Hold'em Obsessive Challenge) by staying up 48 hours straight while there and do my sleeping on the flights.

I'd like to continue a tradition that was recently started in NYC at Evan's birthday get together, the 2+2 stripper dog pile. Let me explain how it's done.

1) get stinking drunk
2) find someone who is rather short. short 2+2'ers work best because the goal is to make sure they get lost under the pile of naked women.
3) sit the "subject" down on a couch
4) proceed to pile as many strippers on the subject as humanly possible until you cannot see him anymore. do not let him come up for air.
5) wash, rinse, repeat.

so what I'm am trying to say is..... a trip to a strip club is mandatory so I can make a complete ass of myself.

I chatted with jason_t about it, looks like we're going to split a room on the 18th and 19th. I'm planning to fly in late on the 17th and back out the 20th.

Looking to get a poker rate similar to what I've seen for Bellagio and Wynn (~$100 per night each, ~3 hours play each). Would be helpful to hear where people are booked or planning to book rooms at, any tips for booking the room, comments on Bellagio / Wynn / Mirage etc.

If Saturday is a limit tournament count me in for Saturday night. Maybe we could have a geezer corner for everyone eligible for the U.S. Presidency (I decided not to run last time around.) Bison? Maybe whiskeytown?

Let us eat and drink and donk. May I suggest one of the larger buffets at a non-Wynn, non-Bellagio, non-Rio casino? We can commandeer the place around 6 - for lunch of course - then proceed to the heavy drinking and $2-4 limit at a location to be arranged by whomever is arranging it. At 5:30 I will play Crap Slots against any human being fool enough to play me who can find two nickel machines. (Last man with coins loses and has to buy the pre-agreed upon dinner. You cannot play "credits" but have to cycle the coins through each time. Better done well-soused.) I am THE KING of Crap Slots. I will play for any restaurant including Delmonicos, total bill capped at $1,000 for you rich people. Anyone who wants to start the night in the afternoon PM me. I'm staying at the Bellagio starting 1pm on Saturday and will be accepting any and all beers. First person who says "I have this boil on my ass" when learning I am a dermatologist buys me dinner.

I do not golf but would happily book the matches, add trash talk, make prop bets and serve as team doctor. I will golf if demanded, but only with rented clubs.

May the best donk win. Oh when arranging this - for whoever does - please let them know we will want to play one round of Indian poker an hour. There is no game funnier.

How To Play

Chinese poker is played between two to four players. The game is played for points, where each point is worth a set amount of money.

Each player gets thirteen cards to arrange into three hands, two five card hands and one three card hand. These hands are called the back, middle and front hand.

The hands will be compared against the corresponding hands of the other players. The objective is to arrange a set of hands that will beat the corresponding hands of the other players. There are often several possible ways to arrange the thirteen cards given to you and the only rules you have to follow are that the back hand must be of a higher value than the middle hand, and the middle hand must be higher than the front hand. The value of each hand is determined by standard poker rules. The front hand, with only three cards, cannot have a flush or straight.

I think it may be close to a six hour drive or so. I'd recommend flying in, flights should be pretty cheap into Vegas.

Yes, Sahara is far. I plan on walking whenever possible. I assume most of the eating and donking activities will be at or between Bellagio and Wynn, right?

I can do Treasure Island for $130 more. Location is better too. Is the place much better than the Boardwalk? If so I will do that.

It appears I am going to coordinate the effort here to get some serious 2+2=Super-Magoo action going.

Most likely it will take place at the MGM (this will be my FIRST choice of venues for various reasons). They have been very helpful in the past with hosting games for the WPDG, and they will probably do the same for us. I know some people there and I'll be talking to them about hosting our game(s).

The possibility of a private tournament (in a casino), or small stakes home game (limited seating) also exists. Advanced planning necessary of course. Some sort of small tournament type thing would be a ton of fun!

I will find out about a mixed-games type deal. MOST dealers in vegas at this time at nearly all cardrooms would be hard pressed to deal most of these games unless we were very helpful to them (nobody plays anything here other than hold'em). Then you have to narrow it down further to the venues who would be willing to have US.

A multi-magoo games situation is certainly quite the possibility. We could have several games if there were enough players, and we had a cardroom willing to accomodate us. Different stakes or games would probably be appropriate. I personally prefer that these super-magoo type games are played at the smallest stakes, for these reasons...

1. we're all mostly sharks. No need to beat up on each other for any kind of real money.

2. we can drink more beer.

3. smaller stakes games have proven in the past to have more action and be more fun.

ok so debate away, and let's get some sort of consensus going so I can discuss this with MGM INTELLIGENTLY AND NOT LOOK LIKE A COMPLETE IDIOT. Tough, I know, but hey, I gotta try!

Also, everyone should be on at least their C+ behavior, since my face will be remembered here in vegas long after you drunken morons go back to your homes in garberville, florida and ogalala, nebraska! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Finally, vegas is likely to be VERY busy at this time, so I am going to do my best to accomodate everyone, but I cannot make any absolute guarantees. I am doing this for FUN and as soon as it stops being FUN for me I won't put much more effort into it, so all of your best cut me a little slack.

Thank you Al (Dave for those who will so be meeting him in Vegas) for once again taking the lead roll. There is a LOT of us, from past experience this works best if there is one leader and we all follow his lead.

I think we should all post our preference for games, this way Al can plan in advance. I think we also need a new master list, so Al knows how many players to expect. At this point it looks like the Magoo game will be Saturday since thats when the most of us will be in town, I recommend we shoot for something like 4PM this way we all have enough time to sober up to play for real later in the evening.

I vote for Sat night 8pm, straight limit holdem or a pot limit holdem tourney with $2-4 limit afterwards (or $1-2 if they'll let us - let 'em know we'll tip well). $3-6 is too much for a lot of people for donking - nothing like blowing through $300 to ruin your weekend. More I think about it the better $1-2 sounds.

If it's a tourney I will put a $100 bounty on my head. Take it if you can.
