Clearly I want some action here...but was it a mistake to not raise the flop? How about the turn raise being so small? I realized afterwards that if he had a flush draw, he's now getting odds to call. At this point, he had a VPIP of 50, so I don't have any real idea what he's playing, and given that we're 10 hands in, it's kinda worthless.

If you raise, there are two things that he is going to call with: an ace and a flush draw

he is going to be paying you at least something with an Ace whether you raise the flop or not, but if you don't raise you are letting the flush draw for free to turn you monster into a very strong second best hand. There aren't many hands that aren't already made but that an extra card can strengthen

If the player is very aggressive, i'll take a chance sometimes and cold call the flop, hoping he'll read that as jacks or something and he pushes in on the turn.

If I do so and a diamond hits though I am prepared to muck. Its early enough that you can afford to surrender this. Often though the aggro player will check the made flush and give you a free draw to the boat anyway.

Usually i would raise that flop in the first place though.
