View Full Version : Building a BR for Vegas champagne rooms - any recommendations?

Hi all -

I'm heading to Vegas this weekend for a friend's 30th birthday. We're staying at the Monte Carlo, which sadly is the best thing that my BR would allow. So here's my question: how can I show my friend a great time while not decimating my BR?

Any recommendations for soft low-limit ring and NL games as well as top choices for gentleman's clubs will also be appreciated.

thanks in advance for the help and thanks to Yugo for the very helpful link to TSC's guide to strip clubs (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1867628&page=&view=&sb=5& o=&vc=1)

Your friend doesn't know it yet but he really doesn't want tickets to the Soleil show or whatever. What he really wants is the trip to Crazy Horse II.

TSC's guide is a bit 'meh' in my opinion. Frankly, if Irie scores big at the WSOP this year I fully expect him to spend his time writing THE definitive Vegas scrippa guide for situations such as this.

In my limited experience, if you can afford to even go to Vegas, you certainly should be able to afford some back-room goodness for your bud. Negotiating is expected and have a gameplan and set limits for what you're gonna spend - you don't want to be bummed the next day over your depleted roll or have to *think* while in the club.

Also, from what I hear, just go to the Wynn and oogle the cocktail waitresses there....at the very least a good warmup plan.

We will all expect a trip report.

Just get a couple of same-room happy endings and high five at the moment of mutual climax. Good feelings all around, for less than 200 bucks.

If it was me I would definetly go with non-working girls, their usually cheaper (they still usually cost the price of a few drinks), and they usually aren't *quite* as big whores.

This is the most naive statement I have ever seen in my life.

PS to the OP: Go to Sin and the CH2. Do whatever you have to to get enough money.

Irie,

Are you talking about the Sin club on Quail Rd.? If so, I found this quote in a review of place:
"The ladies are fantastically gorgeous and of great variety, just as the good Lord intended. And they are quite friendly and plentiful in number. You won't have any complaints in the dancer department!"

I'm not usually a religious kind of guy, but it seems like I might be after a visit to this club.

Last time I was a the deuce, I got there around 2 AM, just as about 10 of the top dancers were retiring for the night to "party" elsewhere. I'll definitely try to get to one of these clubs earlier in the evening.

Thanks for the tips,

BTW - I meant to tell you a couple of months ago, terrific avatar. Liam and me, man...

Sin is very, very +EV.

The scrippas are more than accomodating. Even my pseudo gay friend who initially refused to go to a club enjoyed the amount and quality of attention he got there.

Their champagne room is very comfortable and the music at least didn't distract me (although I can't for the life of me remember one song I heard there).

I'm definitely going to drop by the Wynn at some point over the weekend. Need to check out the waitresses and the poker room that's been hyped up (recent CardPlayer article). I also figure that Wynn will be bringing in the hottest ladies in his harem for the weekend to just cruise around the place.

Trip report will be forthcoming.

RULES FOR VEGY TRIP:
1.) Do not take advice from Yugo
2.) thru 10.) Same as #1
11.) Track down Irieguy after he's had about 15 Heiny's (8:PM on most nights)...At this point he's a drink-buying fool who is no longer able to distinguish between his BR and Backer's BR....Get him to demonstrate "spinning" technique (which will get you barred from whatever shithole casino you have chosen)...Irie will then suggest a trip to CHII where you will get rid of your entire BR. You won't realize, until too late, that Irie is a shill for CHII and his non-chalant banter with the gals comes from years of treating them for whatever is the latest vogue STD. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ah, a shill for CH2 you say? That's okay, I don't mind playing with props (silicone or otherwise), but it's a good thing to keep in mind.

Now if you have any tips for getting a backer for this late-night adventure, that would be very much appreciated. I'm not sure how we would split the "winnings," but I could take pics inside the champagne room on my cameraphone.

Any other recommendations for soft low-limit games? I heard the Excalibur has some easy games, anybody know of any others on the strip?

Seems like the Gentleman's club advice is taken care of.

As for soft NL games.

I found the $50 NL tables at Luxor to be very soft. Small sample but I was making $65/hr. Frankly I was amazed. I would go all-in with my nut flush and get called by some guy who would show middle pair and say "I am just learning" or " I am here for fun"

The no-limit games at Excalibur have a similar reputation but I found the $100 NL game there to be troublesome. It only takes one or two sharks to ruin a table though so YMMV.

I found the midnight to 6AM shift to be both profitable and interesting.

GOOD LUCK !!

Cool -thanks for the advice. I think Yugo also said that the Luxor games were very profitable when he was there last month, so I'll definitely check them out. I'll let you know how it goes.

thanks,

Yes, the luxor nl ring was very, very, very soft. The 'best' guy at the table didn't understand pot and/or implied odds very well (although he kept lecturing me on them).

There were a couple of 'rocks' who waited it out for good hands...but other than them the rest of the table was just full of stupid tourists.

The cocktail waitress was well below 'meh' though so don't expect much in that department.

why is ch2 called the deuce? just because there's a 2 in it's name?

No mention of full nude joints, like Deja Vu, which is only a few blocks away?

soft low-limit games...on the strip

[/ QUOTE ]

This is redundant.

All these low limit games are obscenely soft, so I would go to the nicest/most convenient room. The Monte Carlo is perfectly acceptable. For a nicer room, cross the street to the Aladdin.

The players are probably slightly more awful at Luxor and Excalibur, but the rooms are terrible and they are further away from where you at staying. Hardly seems worth the effort.

I played in the 1/2 NL game at Excalibur for the first time on my last visit. Won $330 in about 90 minutes, but I'm bitter because I never got to spin the wheel.

I also spent several hours in the Luxor $50 buyin 1/1/2 NL game. After 3 hours, I had about $220 in front me. Sadly, I had rebought for $50 8 times already. I had a hard time explaining to new players at the table how I could have the biggest stack, yet be down $200+ when the buyin was capped at $50.

I spent the rest of the weekend at the Aladdin.

My only strip club advice: remove any $100 bills from your person before heading out. Bring only $1 bills to avoid any confusion in the dark recesses of the establishment. (If going to a place Yugo frequents, you might want to bring nickels instead.)

Does seem like a contradiction, I went to that sorry ass Cirque, and fell asleep. Bunch of guys jumping up and down, and climbing poles in tights. I was more impressed with the pole climbing at the Olympic Gardens.
