Agreed.

Though if you don't have an A, I don't see a 1/2 pot bet on the turn being +EV by any means.

I would have folded preflop as previous posters pointed out. After the flop I would bet less on the flop and less on the turn. Players at 50NL like to calling down with TPbetterK in this kind of situations and I dont like giving them free money (this is why I am folding preflop AJ). The only problem is he can have a flush draw, but I think it is more important to lose less to better kicker than to cut his odds.
One more thing, he may be tempted to call down with weaker hand to smaller bets in which case you can make more money.
This is interesting situation... Suppose you have AK and you are fairly certain that you have the best hand now, many players will come over the top after smaller bets because they dont like to fold KK/QQ to 1/3 pot bets and they dont believe you would bet only 1/3 or sth like that with top pair. I think this "provoking" works really well at 50 or 100 NL.
