Should I have seen this as an attempt to get me to push or as $11 weakness (miniraises in the lower levels w/ KJ, QTs etc)?

He had QQ.

Just fold. You're a coinflip or dominated all the time.

I really don't like this push. There is almost no chance button will fold to your raise, and the best you can hope for is overcards.

He bet almost 50% of his stack. This typically means "I want to get my whole stack in, but I don't want to scare anyone off."

Once he puts in 1/2 his stack, there is no chance of him folding. It doesn't matter if it's a minraise or 5xBB raise.

you have no FE over him, he's put 1/2 his stack in and you are 50 50 at best, if not a big dog. fold.

The moral of the story -

2's suck.

Holdem Hi: 1712304 enumerated boards

Even Q9s is a favorite.

I HATE it though when i'm I push on the bubble with AK and the SB calls with 22 (or 44 or something like that)

Could someone smarter than me explain why this is in terms other than because twodimes said so? I was under the apparently false assumption that 22 had a slight edge over anything but a higher pocket pair.

I'll let you pick between 22, JTs, AKo but I always get to pick after you do. Can you ever pick the hand that's a favorite?

Sure. 76s has lots of ways to beat 22:

1) It pairs.
2) It makes a flush.
3) It makes a straight; the presence of the 7 also means that a 3456 board no longer helps the 2's, so you take away some outs from 22 there. (EDIT: Also, the 2's are low enough that they take away no straight cards from 76s.)
4) It beats 22 on boards like AAKK4, where there are two pair on the board and a fifth card less than 6.

When you're playing 22, you really, really either want to see the flop as cheaply as possible and make a set or make a bet that you're very confident will get everybody out. It really doesn't stand up to anything particularly well.

You want to fold here.

There is almost no FE from pushing and 22 is *not* a good hand to race with an open raiser (especially one who just put in half his stack instead of going allin).

If the situation were reversed (you were on the button opening the action), pushing 22 is a good idea.
