There is at least 1 step 4 that has gone every day. However maybe the same guy has been winning them?

Either way, I think it might go off tonight.

Have you guys been going around to the step 5's and WSOP step 6's and stuff and telling the big ballers that everyone is going to be playing at that time.

FWIW, i understand that it is possible that the tourny does not go on tonight, This thread is to get people pumped who want to play and try to schedule a time. It's also to get the word out so that at least a few people are organized in case there are 10 that want to play.

If you know anyone with a freeroll or the cash and the lack of sanity to buy in then do it.

You got nothing to lose to try to make a deal. Make a deal, and I would think you are still going to try to win. You get second, and either he sends you the money or he does not. You still made the money. Would suck to get screwed, but you have $0 to lose to try.

Unless you end up winning, and the guy had no intention of paying you, but you would never know. So I say you try to make a deal.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is the wrong way to look at it, if you make a deal and the guy has no intention of paying if he wins but you will pay when you win, it is a terrible deal for you. If there is a 50% chance he will not pay, it's still a bad deal but only half as bad as the first example.

Even if there is a 5% chance he won't pay it is still a bad deal... but if the chances are that low he won't pay it might be worth it to take "the raw end" of the deal just because of the amount of money involved.

Like I said, someone who just won 100k probably won't mind honoring a 10k deal but I would be scared about any more of a chop then that.

Plus I was under the impression the max transfer was 2500 or 5k or something, how would you move that kind of money safely with someone you don't know well?

Rojosox
04-28-2005, 07:18 PM
my transfer limit is 7k per week, so it would take 2 weeks.

Voltron87
04-28-2005, 07:18 PM
i would take a deal in a hot second. i like to gambool too, but 20k is enough to go for. 70k is overkill. i would only take 7/6 if we both had 45-5500ish in chips, with 600 BB, that is ridiculous gambool there.

I THINK: (raptor plz dont post telling me Im wrong) that with 15K on the line and the presurre of a higher step 5 really does affect u( lots of ppl watching ), Its much easier for me to believe they play scared than theyre morons.

did you make up that 36 minute thing or count it? I was wondering how short it was.

gbertell played WAY too weak HU. He was totally outclassed there.

gbertell had won a step 4 RIGHT before this one started. At one point on 100/200 in that tourney, he reraised all in from BB w t1000 to the SB, who raised to t500 and had t900 or so. The gber had 69 of spades, which flushed to beat AK...he wasn't that good.

I KNEW he didnt have a queen, but maybe he could have had 77 or somethign else so its tough to call with K-high.( a bit easier with A-high)

Not just the $5k for the tournament, but all of the rake collected at the hundreds of step tables that led to this one sng...

How about that Q,10 call by the big stack from the BB against the eventual winner's QQ? That's got to hurt.

What do you do when you know you did everything right? I guess I leave knowing I played the way I normally do getting in the $ 45% of the time. Just was one of those 55 times I dont. On a side note, terrible call by A10, and even more insane by 99 with 2 all-ins in front. IF A10 plays correctly and folds, Genoa makes the right call with 99 and I'm in serious business. But alas, there are no what ifs. I take solace in knowing I can win a lot of $ at this game and for now, it just wasn't meant to be.

The QT guy pushed with 4K trying to steal, didn't he? Or did he call?

Because if he called, wow.

I have the hand history for it, but it INCLUDES ALL THE CHAT. Holy crap is it big.

Not really sure what to do with it as far as posting it - I'd hate to post the whole damn thing as is.

no he pushed UTG and was called by the eventual winner in the BB

It probably was a push instead of a call. I just saw the end of the hand and figured that SB must have pushed.

I can edit the hand history and post it if you require, as I am a computer programmer I can write quick programs to edit it out (though I don't think this is terribly difficult for others to do, I am offering to do it.)

If you are interested email the HH at alpha_wice AT hotmail DOT com now.

Chip leader pushed UTG for like 4300 with QTo, BB called all in for around 2400 or so with QQ.

He went all-in UTG. He was leading in chips at the time and made a huge overbet trying to steal the blinds. I believe the blinds were 150/300. He ended up winning no money...

so I happened to open up the WSOP step 6 that's waiting to start and gbertell that got 2nd place was in there chatting with one of the guys... apparently he started with step ONE yesterday... played 1 and 2 last night, 3, 4, and 5 in 5 hours today...

If he's telling the truth, that's pretty crazy... $30k

Damn, this was exciting just to read about.

Looks like there were at least two whopping bad beats, to read it here. Sorry you got a kick in the behind there, Rojo. You'll be back, or you couldn't have gotten there in the first place.
