I raise UTG KK, get 3 bet by SB....Mistake number 1: Instead of capping I decide to wait and see flop...

Flop comes A rag rag...Serves me right...He bets, I raise, he calls..

Turn brings another brick...Mistake number 2: He checks and I check behind him...My thinking was if he's got an ace I want to get to showdown cheaply, but if he's got an ace, the best thing that can happen is that he check raises, in which case I can probably safely fold...But if he doesn't have an ace, I pick up two big bets on turn and river...The only fly in this ointment is if he's got some sort of weakish ace and decides to just call along...

Sometimes I think not capping AA/KK is ok when HU. Capping is just alerting (some players) to the fact that you actually have a hand. I think you can make up the 1sb postflop.

I would be inclined to raise flop, bet turn (folding to check-raise), and check through river. I think if he calls the river he has an ace >50% of the time, and sometimes a smaller pocket pair (QQ,JJ etc), so there is no value bet.
