I have a friend that works there. He says its very upperscale and you'll be lucky to find 6/12 or under in there. The NL games will be just that, NO LIMIT. They are going to experiment with NO MAX buy in games with various min's and blind structures. Their goal is to spread 10/20 through 400/800 regularly with a "few" NL games. But you can only spread what people will play. They do have a couple Stud tables as well.

The only complaint was that with just the employees in there for play date that it got kinda cramped. Seems like it will be very cramped when busy, so they are going to have to keep the railbirds on the rail.

It opens tonight at midnight, right? Or is tonight the special pre-opening invite-only thing?

private pre-opening on Thursday is confirmed. Mixed stories for this weekend, I heard it's private with a charity donation of 1,000.

i would love to see the type of chips they are using at the Wynn as well.

All the chips they are using have like a computer chip in I heard they did not use paulson, but some other company, this way they dont have to deal with counterfit chips.

It's going to be 4/8, 8/16, 15/30 etc. from what I heard. Hmmm, wonder who they're trying to compete with? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

It opened today at Midnight, the news here had coverage, there were a couple thousand people waiting to get in.

Line started at 5:30pm, they interviewed the first couple (of morons).

This was the public grand opening of the place including the PR, which I am sure there will soon be some reviews up in the next 24 hours.

If that's the case, it's very good news for the Mirage since their 10-20, 20-40, and 40-80 games should be relatively unaffected.

Nope. 9/18 structure for the rarely seen $27-$54 game. That's the one with the $13 SB of course.

ya the chips are paulsons. i guess Wynn had to cut down costs since he has the micro chips in them. a very boring chip, that look strikingly similar to his Bellagio, TI, and Mirage designs on the $1 and $5.

here are the others.
http://www.nevadacasinochips.com/Wynn10.jpghttp://www.nevadacasinochips.com/Wynn20.jpg
http://www.nevadacasinochips.com/Wynn25.jpghttp://www.nevadacasinochips.com/Wynn100.jpg

notice the dot on the 25 and 100. at first i thought it was the micro chip but then realized that it is just a securtiy dot. the Micro chip is embedded inside the chip and they will be on the $25 and higher chips.

What exactly is a security dot? Does it show a special graphic when viewed under a magnifying glass or something?

Chipr777
04-28-2005, 04:14 PM
That's exactly right. Under a microscope it says "Paulson" a bunch a times. Most, if not all, Paulson $25 and higher have a microdot.

Praise the Lord, someone in Vegas has finally seen the light. $2 chips!! This will be the first 8/16 game in town that won't be physically painful to play.

I just called the Wynn poker room and the person on the phone denied the existence of $3 poker chips. Weird.

I'd like to crack one of those suckers open and take a look at the RFID chip but for $25 I guess I'll pass.

else goto the Wynn site and look at poker? It looked to me like the plan was to spread a 6-12 minimum limit game.

Just the way the website looked to me.

Wynn had SIX 4-8 games running on early Thursday evening. I think your friend just spread around one of many rumors about Wynn which have quickly been shown to be untrue.

as I pointed out in an earlier thread...

Wynn has Canterbury's cardroom manager, and we've used $2 chips for even the 6/12 games for as long as they've been open (kept it $1 for the 4/8 games to keep the pots big) -

sorta hated using 5/1 chips when I was in vegas - she had the right idea -

I don't need to check the website. I was in the room myself and saw the games and limits they were spreading.

Anybody who says "you'll be lucky to find 6/12 or under in there" is spreading false information. About half of the limit games in the room were 6-12 or UNDER.

radek2166
04-28-2005, 10:32 PM
I was also there. I am not dening what you are saying.

What I am saying. It looked to me that origianlly the minimum spread was going to be 6-12. I am just going off of the web site. Thats the reason for the 3 dollar chips.

Maybe the figured that 4-8 would be better. I really dont know. I am just taking a guess.

The website looks like 6-12 was the plan.

poker327
04-28-2005, 10:34 PM
The Web site says the minimum is 3/6/

radek2166

Really the one I have seen (with Wynn talking) says 6 up to 100/200 http://www.wynnlasvegas.com/

04-28-2005, 10:40 PM
At the site, second paragraph it says:

"The games are generally offered at limits ranging from $3/$6 up to $100/$200. Higher limit games are often available for the more adventurous player, and we offer pot-limit and no-limit games."

They could have changed it, I don't know.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! I am missing part of that due to resoultution. Thank you very much!!!! I have been sitting here thinking thats odd Just to see 6 dollars.

This is why I am not supposed to assume anything. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

6/12 & 9/18 if it ever goes, would be nice for 3/6 even though I think, fewer chips, easier for touristy bad players to give away.

Denied existance? LOL!
