UTG had limped UTG with a Q10 on the first hand and I took 500 from him via a checkraise on a Q 7 5 flop and QK. MP3 had bet the pot when his AK hit a K x x flop, so i didnt think he had much. Thoughts?

yuk...hero mucks...

edit: I didnt see your play when I made this post but now see you folded. smart.

you're getting about 1.8:1 on the call? but 3 out of four times here you are behind...I'd say best case scenario would be that he has a 9 too...except he has the A kicker.

calling 840 into ~1400pot on chance he is on a bluff is too much.

As far as your raise goes, maybe a little too bold here. If he bet less, I dont mind sticking it in there, but with another to act behind you this is just too risky with a such a holding and the draws on board.

so this is a call right? My thinking in folding is that I could keep a good chip stack and double up when i was a bigger favorite - QQ against JK on a J x x flop about 10 hands later did just fine /images/graemlins/smile.gif

But yeah, this fold was probably too weak-tight.

"yuk hero mucks" means thats what i would do if I were you...didnt realize that is, in fact, what you had done.

ahhh, i see. yeah this sucked to fold though - since i felt there was a decent chance the raisor might have just had a flush draw...but i still had to fold it for reasons explained in my last reply.

You could make a case for mucking preflop. However, the 1st level of stars is pretty forgiving for SB limps, so I don't have an issue with doing it here. Especially with so many players. However, this flop isn't good for you at all. If you're ahead, and I mean 'if,' it's will often cost you a lot of chips to find out.

I would check/fold this flop. If I decided that I was going to play, I would lead out to gain more information. Check/raising with this hand certainly defined it for you--you're in serious trouble--but leading out might have given you the same info, for less chips.
