The World Series. Why?

1. Great Manager
2. Great Pitching
3. Great Hitting
4. Great Fielding
5. Great Fans

They just won a squeaker in LA. Go Diamondbacks.

The Mariners are so, well, so-so. /images/graemlins/blush.gif Disappointing so far.

However, the Yankees are really doing well. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

All of these are debatable /images/graemlins/smile.gif

What is not debatable is that the Yankees need Vazquez. Obviously RJ is an improvement, but I really felt that Javier would bounce back this year and be like his pre-All Star break self.

The kid is still young and he has 4 terrific pitches.

And look at Halsey go.

I won't mention El Duque and Contreras. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Of course the DBacks will never give us Vazquez.

He of the 6.11 ERA

28:8 BB/K though, something's up with that defense.

I imagine the D-Backs will cool off and finish below .500. I had them for about 70ish wins, it looks like they're better than that if Glaus can stay healthy. Even if they only win 80, that might be good enough for 2nd in this division....

ERA isn't everything.

Vazquez has the stuff. I don't want to jinx him as I have jinxed so many others, but let me just say that I think he will have a fantastic year this year. 15+ wins, ERA below 3.50, 200+ IP, etc.

And he has gotten a lot better since his awful first start:

APR 04 CHC 0 1 37.80 0 1.2 10 7 0 2
APR 09 LAD 0 0 15.43 0 5.1 5 5 3 7
APR 14 @WSH 0 1 11.77 0 6.0 8 5 1 8
APR 20 @SF 1 0 7.65 0 7.0 8 0 2 2
APR 25 @LAD 1 0 6.11 0 8.0 5 2 2 9

He has been EXCELLENT for his past two starts. Great stuff both times, against two top NL teams in San Fran and Los Angeles. Both road games.

I have also been pleasantly surprised by Halsey's success in Zona.

Your avatar was one of the those I thought should never be changed.

I'll take an avatar bet that Javy won't go sub 3.5 in 200 innings.

it'll probably comeback, I'll probably alter it though.

I have enough bets to keep track of. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

But I do think he will do awesome. Maybe not sub 3.5, but I'm pretty sure below 4, and I think that he will get to 15 wins, and get to 200 IP.

I seem him having a year like his 2002 in Montreal, although with more wins. 225 IP maybe, a few more hits than innings pitched, but relatively few walks and a lot of Ks.

How do you think Moose will do tomorrow against the Angels?

Call me crazy, but I think the Yankees are going to win out the rest of April.

I'd get in on this action.

Javy's doing good on the K/BB front. The 4 HRs are a little scary and the defense is probably really bad, or at least he's been pretty unlucky or just beingplain smacked around while Webb seems to be getting luckier and having those little texas leaguers hit to the fielders.

I can't say about Moose, but I wouldn't expect the best. I'll be watching.

Indeed. I'm having fun. But last year was so dismal you should cut me slack on the hyperbole. The Diamondbacks are better than what most expected. It's early, still; I think the D-backs could reach 90 wins. But that is a Fan talking.

Hey, man, I'm certainly used to being overly optimistic. I'm a Saints fan, after all...

Every year is the year the Saints are going to the Super Bowl.

So, yeah, you heard it here first. The Saints are going to the Super Bowl.

Also, [censored] the Jets.
