I'd also whip everyones ass at cycling. I play a decent game of pool, but im sure there are people here who are way better than I am.

edited to add: I'd also play anyone here Dr. Mario for money. And I'd fully expect to win.

My personal best is 43 seconds.

I do know someone who can take an unsolved Rubik's cube, look at, put on a blindfold, manipulate the Rubik's cube, take off the blindfold, look at the Rubik's cube, put the blindfold back on and solve the Rubik's cube.

Against most human beings, I'd say checkers. Against 2+2ers that's probably a death wish.

I'll say NHL2k on the Sega Dreamcast. I'll spot anyone 2 goals, and beat them with the Red Wings, or keep it even and play as the Thrashers. Offsides is on, but if I feel bad for you after the first game, I may left you turn it off.

Also, paintball. It's not really an individual sport, but I'll take anyone here on it that.

I've played Midget AAA for arguably the best team in BC. I was invited to many Junior A/B camps and a couple of WHL camps. I only went to one of the Junior B camps in a nearby town just for the experience. I knew I wasn't going to play there, as I decided I was going to university. I did make that team however.

I've found that many activities I excel at are also shared by other 2+2'ers, which I guess is why we've all found a home here. /images/graemlins/cool.gif Around my normal circle of everyday life, I excel at games. But here, there's surely someone better at every game out there than I. From poker to video games to board games to Magic: the Gathering, there's probably someone here that is better than I am at any in particular.

If I had to pick one that I think I'd beat other 2+2'ers at, though, I'd go with WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne. I haven't played in awhile, but given a few weeks I could probably be in shape to stand toe to toe with anyone here. That is, as long as TillerMaN (whom I've heard plays poker actually) isn't a lurker. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Perhaps Magic: the Gathering, assuming none of the many better players than I aren't lurkers here and Paluka is as rusty as he was at the 2003 Invitational. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

There may be some D1 level basketball players on here, but if not, I may be the best basketball player. I was pretty good in my prime, no Doyle Brunson though. I haven't lost one on one in over a decade, despite not shying away from any challenges. I have a hunch that there's a great basketball player here though.

As stated, I'm a monster at quarters, as well as most other drinking games, especially Beirut. I've seen some people who are ridiculously good at beer pong though, and it seems a lot of 2+2ers are big drinkers as well, so I won't claim that I'm the best here. Quarters for sure though.

I played a lot of video games when I was younger, far too much, and I was all but unbeatable in at least three: Perfect Dark, Tekken 3, and NBA Jam. Unless someone here devoted a (very) large part of their life to one of these games, I am the greatest.

Sometimes you just get a lucky board and only have to click a few times to win. I had a real shot at a 1 once (it was only 2 clicks to win) but I twitched and missed. 1's are not that uncommon. I had a friend in college who was in the 60's on expert--that is truly sick.

Most likely hula-hooping. If anyone is better than me I would think they have something wrong with them [I admit I do]. I've gone for close to an hour on several occasions and was only stopped by stupid people who thought it was funny to knock it down. I can also run and jump while still keeping it up. Sad really.

Also I could most likely beat everyone at Super Smash Brothers Melee but that isnt a definite because I know there are some sick people out there at this game. I can't even wave dash very well yet.

Yeah I've seen a few people do much more with that escalator trick at airport, but not many. I'd be impressed by a combo higher than 10 mil with no cheats, it gets VERY hard to balance at the end of the really long combos. I think you'd have to put together a full 2 minute combo to get it done, and I've only seen a few of those. If you have any pics of higher scores you can share them. I've got 6 mil+ at Rio as well. I continue to hold the title as long as no contrary evidence is produced!

Before working for myself in the restaurant business I was a professional waiter working in fine dining rooms.

The thing I was the best at is putting on shows tableside doing flambe. You name it, I did it...appetizers, main course, desserts and drinks all tableside and all required showmanship and fire which meant you better know what your doing.

To this day I still get calls from restaurants to train their staff. It may not seem like a big deal but to me it was a nice thought that I was one of the best at something.

I work in a residential treatment center for boys in NY State. Large, private non-profit, we are paid by the counties and state social services / child welfare people. Most of our youth are black/hispanic and from urban areas of NY. I work in an independent living department, so my job is twofold. We have some kids in a transitional apartment program directly supervised by us, I tutor them, do behavioral counseling etc. We also run independent living groups (life skills stuff, mandated by NY state for youth in placement) for all the kids in the regular residential units (approx 200 kids between myself and 3 other staff). Write detailed progress notes on all of the above. I also developed the assessment system we use in the transitional program and track the youth 'scores' via daily checklists and log notes from myself and other staff.

It's insane.

NT

EDIT: As far as training, one of my BA concentrations was in Law/Social Science and I have about 100 hours of on-the-job clinical, group leadership and policy training. Our department is somewhere between a postgrad clinical position and a normal direct care position, usually people have to come into it with a large amount of experience in residential work. I started it at age 20 after being there as a tutor for 1.5 years, which was wild.

Currently working on getting an MSW and moving into a strictly clinical capacity.

I'm so good at skateboarding I broke my elbow riding into my driveway last summer.

Seriously though, I used to go to skateparks and stuff back when I was in elementary school / junior high. I could drop in on the 7 foot ramp when I was in fifth grade! .... my skateboarding claim to fame.

[/ QUOTE ]

If that qualifies for skateboaring, I think I win.

I have no idea how good I am now, but I used to do handrails, gaps, stairs, and some minor tech stuff.

I might be best on a mini ramp still.

Also, maybe snowboarding, but I doubt it. I am a horrible spinner, but I can get pretty tech on rails and boxes- can anyone beat: crooked press to alley-oop 270 out?

Put me down for bubble hockey. I've never found anyone who could beat me. I've only found a few who would require a modicum of effort to beat. 99% of those I played, I could beat with one hand literally behind my back. To get a money game, I would have to give spots such as conceding all face-offs; no goalie; no center; one hand behind the back; no shots on goal with my eyes open; or combinations of those.

I hadn't played in about 10 years. Then last summer I visited a cousin who has the game in his rec room. Full-size arcade version. His teenage son was the house champ, so I played him. I was up 3-0 in about 10 seconds. The kid remained focused. "You're not gonna beat me," he kept saying.

I decided to show off. My left winger had the puck. Instead of centering, or going behind the net to the right winger, I cleared it back around the boards behind my own net, where my right defenseman got it.

"Cam Neely plays it back to Ray Bourque," I announced, "...be-HIND the net..."

(Bruins HOF radio announcer Bob Wilson always punched that second syllable of behind. "...be-HIND the net...")

I fired the shot from behind my goal line, whizzing it through traffic and past the out-of-position goalie.

"HE SCORES! Raymond Bourque, from 180 feet away, gives the Boston Bruins a 4-0 lead! I've never seen anything like it!"

The kid's jaw dropped for a moment. Then he shook it off. "You're not gonna beat me," he said.

I conceded the ensuing face-off, and stoned his breakaway effort. The puck went to my left defenseman.

"Gord Kluzak goes after it, passes it be-HIND the net to Bourque..."

The goalie was out of position again, giving me half the net to shoot at, but a few of his players had the middle of the neutral zone clogged. But the wings weren't clogged...

"Bank shot," I announced.

"Yeah, right," the kid said.

I took aim at the spot where the red line meets the right-side boards, and fired.

"He scores!!! He called his shot, like Babe Ruth!"

The kid's shoulders slumped. "Maybe you ARE gonna beat me."

(BTW, if Kluzak could've stayed healthy, he would've gone to the HOF alongside of Raymond--if they let defensive-minded defensemen in the HOF.)

One more, because I'm such a badass. I can almost certainly work the ILC software suite better than anyone else on these boards. Probably in large part because no one here has ever heard of ILC before, or if you have, they didn't bother to teach you how to work with most of it, because they can pay student co-ops $14/hr to fix any problems instead of sending an engineer out there a couple times to do training. Unless you're CNBC/DirecTV/DoD, in which case you do get lots of training.
