Couldn't find it in the search, imagine it's been discussed, but here's this anyway:

Holy [censored], what a frickin great movie!!

This movie goes straight into the top twenty, easy.

P.S. It's somehow even BETTER if you also watch the incredible bleakness of the documentary that comes on the DVD.

I assumed it was some sort of Snatch-esque slang Portugese from the slums.

Yeah.

But more than that, I was really impressed with how well it was shot, and written, and acted, and scored and, well...everything.

I mean, damn. If you don't think this is a great film, I suspect you don't care for films.

Yeah, City of God is incredible. I absolutely love the cinematography in that movie.

Umm not sure if this is a joke but they were speaking Portuguese, not a new language.

Agreed. My wife kept trying to get me to watch this, which is usually a bad sign, but it was incredible.

Kinda like a Brazilian "Scarface."

The scene where they have the two kids cornered, and they shoot one in the foot, that was freakin' intense. When something like that is so uncomfortable to watch, you know it's getting the point across.

I own the DVD, easily in my top 3 favorite movies, mabye even #1.

Also the documentary is amazing.

For the sake of clarity, I'd like to point out they after shooting the one kid in the foot, they actually KILL the other kid.

And by "they", you mean another like 8 year old. Chilling.

We only got the main disc on Netflix, but maybe I should get the special features disc too, from the sounds of it.
