View Full Version : Is eating 8 eggs in one day going to make me sick?

Inspired by the recent "Deviled Eggs Are Yummy" thread, I made a large batch last night expecting a few of my friends who were over (who expressed interest in eating some) to help me finish them off. They each ate 1/2 egg and then left, leaving me with 8 eggs (16 halfs). They were really good and I want to eat all of them--badly. Am I going to get sick? I'm not sure if it matters; I'm probably going to eat all of them anyway. Just curious.

I don't know much about deviled eggs becuase I avoid them at all costs, but I know a few football players that eat 8 eggs in one sitting... So I wouldn't worry about it too much.

About every three weeks I eat a bag of powdered donuts in one sitting. That's prolly around 40-50 powdered donuts in less than an hour and I'm still kicking. Eating 8 eggs will likely make you feel a little queasy, but you have a good chance of survival.

Dig in!

I was also inspired, and made 6 last night. I ate them all. I didn't get sick but it really was a too much of one thing kinda feeling. Supposedly you can refrigerate them for one day, so next time I will only eat half a batch at a time.

For about 6 months when I was in high school, I regularly consumed more than a dozen eggs every day and never had any problem with feeling sick.

He's surely talking about those mini-donuts. I think I've witnessed a member of this forum accomplish this exact feat (or close enough to it) only barely noticing.

Just once I don't think there going to be any effects.

If you make this a daily routine, that's something else.

What we have here is a failure to communicate. This thread is about deviled eggs, not normal hardboiled eggs.

I didnt read any other post, but in the movie cool hand luke he eats 50...I think you will be alright. If you ate 15, maybe we would have something to talk about.

I used to eat that many of them raw a day. You'll be fine, but probably gassy as hell.

What's with your friends only eating half an egg? I didn't know it was possible to screw up deviled eggs, but it sounds like you found a way. I've never been any place where the deviled eggs weren't pounced on like they were solid gold.

No, believe you me, they were awesome. I was under the impression that they liked deviled eggs. Apparently they'd never tried them before and didn't enjoy them too much.
