Though they don't advertise it, the Muck is willing to spread a $100 buy-in, 2-4 blind, $500 max bet, NL game.

If you are interested in playing it there, PLEASE let the board know when you sign up and fill out a comment card too.

We tried to get a game last week, but they went for a cash cow game instead /images/graemlins/frown.gif

btw - If you mention that Tulalip already spreads a NL game and that the Muck is behind them in game selection, the floor lady gets her panties in a bunch and bitches you out /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sweet, thanks for the info. Now if the poker room would only go no-smoking we'd be set /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

I'd be more interested in seeing them spread an 8-16 game or a 6-12.

They already tried 6-12. I don't see either of these limits happening any time soon.

btw...when they did 6-12 it was the tightest/toughest game i'd ever played on before or since.

Bernie, you weren't kidding about the 10-20 playing like a 3/6 sometimes.

Holy suck outs and loose passivity, batman!

And that was the main game!

You realize that this is a stretch limit game, right?

Spread. There's no need to nitpick though, like arizona we have a limited by state law max bet. At least ours is 500 instead of 150 though, so that when we have a $100 max buyin game it will be NL most of the time for most stacks. Sure, when you have more than one stack in the game that's built to over 500 it isn't true NL anymore, but we can't really do anything about that.

Yeah, you're right about nitpicking though.

Thanks for correcting me re: spread limit. I wasn't sure.

With 2/4 blinds, a $100 max buy seems like it's really shallow though... or is that the minimum?

It is shallow. It's better than what used to be the only NL game in town though:

3/5 blinds
$100/min max
$500 max bet

That game is now 2/4 blinds 100 and the 200 min/max i believe is 3/5 (this is at a competing casino). So they would do 2/4 100 to be competitive. I'm not sure why they wouldn't do a 1/2 100 or 2/4 $200 max buyin instead though.

I popped my cherry a month ago, but played so scared that I left once my $4/8 seat opened up. I figured I would try it again last night with a different mindset.

Unfortunately, I got caught up in Mr. Negative (hence my psych post) and didn't play as well as I could have.

I did notice a lot more semi bluffing on the turn, but the people were predictable when they did it so I just charged them extra bets for their bluffs. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think the 10-20 varies a lot. It is usually pretty soft, but can be tough from time to time. As opposed to the 20-40 which is usually pretty tough, but can be as soft as a 4-8 sometimes.

I know I was pretty scared the first time I played 10-20, imagining that it was filled with the gods of poker, but no, just monkeys with more money. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I haven't been up there and played since last Thurs. It's nice to hear the games are a little slow this week so Im not missing anything.

Which doesn't mean the games are bad, but they'll likely break up quicker.

The 10-20 plays almost exactly as the 4-8 did a few years ago. Which should give you an indication of just how good the 4-8 has become.
