CR the flop, lead the turn, fold if raised. If you are 3-bet on the flop, fold the turn (or flop) .

Krishan,

Do you play this any differently if the flop is a rainbow? My thinking is that, if the flop was rainbow and had no draws, then a check/raise suggests someone does not have the King, since otherwise they'd be less likely to try and drive someone their one opponent out.

To put it differently, what hands would you put a person on if you got check/raised in this situation?

If the board was rainbow and I was Hero, I would play it the same.

it's hard to recommend a play, if

a) you are heads up
and
b) you don't have a read

For instance, I would 3 bet preflop, if I think the button is stealing.

I then would have led the flop.

You need to suspect button of stealing in this situation a vast majority of time. If you presume that the unknown button is stealing here, until you develop reads, it is a smaller mistake than to presume otherwise. You need to discourage stealing, because it increases your variance and because stealing on the button is usually a good play. Discourage the button by three-betting pre-flop because your hand is strong heads up. Then lead this flop.
