With those stats, I expect villian to be playing an underpair here fairly often, and raising the flop to see if you connected; maybe he's got some kind of backdoor draw as well. This puts you in a tricky position, as he's likely to fold if you 3-bet (unless he somehow has a flush draw, which would require him cold-calling 2nd in with ATs or suited connectors--not likely based on the limited read). He's also likely to fold to a turn c/r.

So basically, I think the line you took is probably best, assuming I'm reading the opponent correctly. Playing back at him will probably just fold him, so just keep giving him rope and letting him bluff at you.

Thanks. It felt like the right way to go, but I also feltlike I hadn't been down this road before in other hands if that makes any sense. I was surprised he didn't bet the river ...

Villan was 13/0/6 after about 50 hands.

I've had runs where I was like 0/0/4 after 50 hands.

Check/raise the turn.

I'd much rather 3-bet the flop or stop and go the turn on this board.

Yeah usually, but if this guy really is as aggressive as advertised I would check to him too since he would bet a flush draw on the turn.
