My question is what should I have done pre flop with the limper in front of me?

this is probably a stupid one (maybe they both are), I should have pushed pre flop correct?

-first shot at these 'converter' questions-

Thanks /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'd push both preflop.

I'm a novice, but i can't see how I'm not happily pushing both of those.

What everyone else said.

What they missed is your appalling bet on the flop with the AK. Do you think you're better off putting those chips in preflop when you might be in front, or now, when you are almost certainly not.

Edit: Also what on earth is that raise on the turn all about? What did your last 75 chips do to you to warrant this murder?
You MUST tell me, or someone, why you raised the extra 75 here. Did you give up?

I think we all picked push preflop with the AK.

Good point about the 75. We've all done or seen people come back and get ITM with a few chips. When they can do no good in the pot, they should stay in your stack.

After a break from the puter and rereading this I'm shamed and humbled to have posted them, particularly the A/K scenario. Re the A/Q, I think I was worried about the value of the A/Q with that particular limper in front of me mixed with still having 10X the BB at the upper end of level 3.

Out of my 3 basic choices in each hand I definitely picked the worst. I'm a better player than that. I think what messed me up was paying too strict heed/misunderstanding the guidelines in the 'Beating The 10's' article and losing perspective on the situation at hand, if that makes any sense.

Thanks, and you have my solemn word that all future queries will be more worthy of your replies /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't have the link. Just wanted to say, don't be hard on yourself. Small sample, right? Could just be a bad run.

That article helped me immediately and immensely. Prior to it I had only read Party Pokers Playing Guide 'No Limit Single Table Tourny Strategy' regarding the parameters for the levels, and AM's masterpiece really brought it all together.

Hehe I think you were up against me in that first situation since I made a similar play on a 244 board earlier tonight. My name on Party is FoxMulderFBI so if that was me, you made a good fold.
