Is this a typical 3 bet spot?

Maybe lead the turn? I think I like check/raising better, as he'll probably 3-bet with any K without thinking. Did you think about trying to check/raise the river too?

This may be bad, but it's pretty obvious he has a K, do you think a player with a K could resist betting the river if you checked? I think you might be able to get another BB here.

I don't think so, but I wanted villain HU. Also, if villain caps me, I have a good idea where he stands.

The correct answer is that you felt the quads coming.

I like the 3-bet, quads or no quads.

I thought he'd raise me. In his eyes, what's the worst that happens? We chop. I raise that river every time if I'm him.

Right. I thought of this immediately after I posted. It was results oriented from seeing the river action. Although, some players, like this one I presume, figure it's a chop and don't want to "increase the rake" and just call.

This is valid concern, but I think at this point the rake is maxxed out, so not going bonkers on the river is foolish IMO. His passivity cost me bets, dammit.
