I wasnt sure if I should have folded the flop here and not risked an early knock out. I pushed the turn.

folding the flop with tptk here is a leak, your play is fine.

Nope. Its fine. I would probably have raised a little more than 3X the BB this early, simply because 45 chips is not enough to drive away the crazies. I've found that raising to 60 or so will do the trick.
