This poll was inspired by this post (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=2234583&page=0&view=c ollapsed&sb=5&o=14&vc=1) of David Sklansky's wherein David says:

'At age 13 I believe I was better in math, science, puzzles, coming up with clever shortcuts, and logic, than perhaps half of those who went on to get [Nobel] physics prizes (and most of those who got the economics prize) when they were 13 years old. (At that age I stopped studying).'

I have no idea. Top 10% maybe?

Well I remember scoring better than 99% of my fellow test takers whenever we had standardized state tests... So yeah, there's one vote for Top 1%

I definitely scored in the top 1% (maybe top 2%) on all of my standardized tests, but I used to beat other kids up when I was 13. Where's my option?

Most people I knew got 90%+ on those standardized tests. I got 95-99% too. I don't think that means much. I could be a genius, but I think that is unpossible.

If you got outside 90% you were clearly headed toward Down Syndrome.

This is a worthless post. First of all David's post was worthless because he has no way to know. Second of all you're going to get a lot of BS answers here. Third of all 2+2 tends to have a user base that is not representational of the general population. It's already been discussed that the average 2+2er (and especially the average OOTer) is way smarter than the general population.

I think the OOT posters are the smartes posters on the forum actually.

ANd that's a lesson on how to turn a serious post into a joke.

I beat my elementary school principal at chess when I was 10. I thought he let me win till I was 14 and realized he was actually just really dumb. He later became the mayor of the town I live in. You will think you are very smart if everyone around you is an idiot. I now know I am just average but at the time I considered myself elite. And others thought I was smart also. If you believe a lie it is easy to convince others of it.

This is true. I lied in the voting (top 1%). I did not lie however in the one fact that is undeniable true:

I am a Zen Master

At 13 I was taking Algebra 1, Latin, Spanish and all the other advanced classes. Now I'm in a school for [censored]-ups! My logic skills then = the suck. Now they = g00t.

When I was 13 I played in the little league world series. I was co-MVP of the regional tournament. After that I started persuing other things like drinking and gambling. If I would have stayed with baseball I would have won ATLEAST 2 MLB MVP awards. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

I read a book and learnededed myself to play chess at age 7 and quickly began to beat adults.

Then I started smoking P.O.T.

Often times I think back and wonder what my life would be like if I hadn't wasted that time learning chess.
