Are we pushing hoping someone with a Ten in hand will call or are we pushing to take the pot?

Well, you always want worse hands to call, but the pot is worth winning now, so your push here is to make drawing hands either fold or call with improper odds.

I'm not sure I totally get it either. I would expect a reasonable sized bet to chase out anyone that shouldn't be in the pot. Someone that has you beat is going to call the all-in.

Nobody is likely to have him beat on the flop. Possible but unlikely. Flsuh draws and a pair of tens are possible.

10 players remain in a 20$ SNG.. They might call with all kinds of junk. Really, that is why we play them /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I agree Push the flop

With a bigger stack size I would agree with you, but the pot currently has 450 chips in it and Hero has 675. a push is the move IMO.

other than a set or AA (who prob would have reraised), Hero has the best hand. He will get called by a lot more - AK, AQ, A10-J10, flush draws, 77-QQ are all possibilities.

Thanks for the replies.

Having been away and now coming back to the hand, pushing the flop seems an obvious play. I'm actually pricing a hand like Axd in here. Also too many cards I don't want to see on the turn (T,A,d). When the action in front of me was UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, MP3 bets t50, I wasn't really thinking about the play. I figured my raise would simply take down the pot. Which is not a good assumption to make.

I now also think my pfr was too small in this case.

Yes. Additionally, Hero is facing THREE opponents postflop. Giving anybody a cheap free card here is nuts. You need to bet 2/3 of the pot--minimum. And that easily pot commits you. I'm content with increasing my stack by 50%.
