NL Party, level 3 (bb=50), 8 players.

Preflop:
Hero (MP1) raises to 150.
Button raises allin to 1000.
Everyone else folds.
Hero also has 1000 and will be allin if he calls.

Questions:

1: What would you want in your hand to call? (Assuming no reads on villain I'd personally call with any pair, AK and AQ.)

2: What range of hands would the average party player call with and how would this be dependant on the buyin level? Would a 109er be looser or tighter than a 22er here? (At the 22s I would expect people to call with AA-88, AK-AT and KQ in this spot.)

But what do you think.....?

Ok, I'll be serious now.

1. AA-QQ

If I saw that the guy was a nut, I would probably add JJ and AK.

Any pair? No, that's horrible. Gotta fold 22-66 here. I also fold 77, 88, maybe 99. For me, AK-AQ, AA-TT/99. Something like that.

AA, KK, QQ & AK Only!!! You're on level 3. If you win you'll have t2000 which really isn't that much more than t850 if you fold. If you lose you'll have t0 which is a LOT less than t850. Now is not the time to be taking chances.

I *HATE* to call all-ins, even from fish. I've been beat too many times, sometimes bad beats, sometimes not. If I'm gonna call I want to know when I call that I'm the man, no doubt. (I hate calling with QQ, but you gotta!)

Of course I'm just a rookie, I could be wrong.
