Yes.

Given a normal SNG pay-out structure (which I assume this is), I would take this gamble in order to gain the chip lead from the chip leader. You will basically be reversing roles if you hit, and then 1st is a good probability (assuming strong short-handed and heads-up play). If you wait around and slide into 2nd you're not getting much more money than 3rd and will have a small chance at taking 1st, making this a strong gamble for the extra payout (difference between 2nd and 1st).
