I thought I'd tell a buddy going to Quebec that if he upset anyone, just say, "Je niques des chevres chaque dimanches."

He asks, "What does that mean?"

I reply, "No big deal."

He asks again, "Sounds kinda long. What does it mean literally?"

I reply, "It means, I [censored] goats every saturday."

He says, "I [censored] goats every saturday?"

I reply, "No big deal."

Shows what I know. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was thinking about that today though.

DiManche probably means "Of (something)"

Any ideas as to it's origin?

From Encyclopedia Mythica (http://www.pantheon.org/miscellaneous/origin_days.html):

Sunday
The name comes from the Latin dies solis, meaning "sun's day": the name of a pagan Roman holiday. It is also called Dominica (Latin), the Day of God. The Romance languages, languages derived from the ancient Latin language (such as French, Spanish, and Italian), retain the root.

French: dimanche; Italian: domenica; Spanish: domingo
German: Sonntag; Dutch: zondag. [both: 'sun-day']
