The problem is, after the turn, I dont see too many hands that this player is betting (he seems pretty solid) that dont have me beat. I can't really put him on AJ A9 or lower can I?
I think my best opportunity would have been to raise the flop. What do yall think. Raise it to like 9 or so? Whats the plan if he raises? I would be inclined to push bc I can't put him on low pockets with the pf raise. good line?

With AK, that's the flop you are waiting for! You have to raise the flop to $8-10. He would probably check to you on the turn, you bet and if you are raised then you suspect AQ and decide if you call it down or not.
Just calling you don't get information on where you stand, and if you're ahead you don't get enough value...
Do you have any idea what hand your opponent is raising with there?

I definitly would have tried to play this more agressive.i think theres a few ways you could have played this. depending on the player and you read.

preflop: you have position on him, so this is huge not just for now but for the rest of the hand. one think you could do is raise to 6-8. this will define your hand and let you see where your at...or you can call his preflop raise and see a flop before you decide to go any further.

Post flop. he bets 3, this is a beautiful flop for you. i think a raise to 8-10 would be good right here. this raise will get you information and get some value if infact you are againt AQ or AJ.
