Is peanut butter Twix considered acceptable for the Twix answer, or just the original?

American chocolate type candy(candy bars) sucks, but Three Musketeers is actually highly regarded and sometimes said to be the best one.

I have some favorites, but overall I'd have to say that Three Musketeers probably is the best, regardless of what my personal favorites are.

Polls with limited options like this are:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v720/DynastyPoker/tinky.jpg

If you like Twix and feel compelled to tell everyone, why don't you just post Twix are yummy. Do you think they're yummy too? It wouldn't be an intelligent post. But, it would be a step-up from yet another dumbass poll.

BTW, if you make it to one of my home games, I'll be sure to have Twix. I always have a candy bowl for Tommy Angelo. I'm trying to give him diabetes.

If I wanted to do that, that's what I would do. However, I simply wanted to know what people thought the best candy bar was, and felt like I could come up with a poll that was more concise than listing every candy bar made. In retrospect, I might have made it Twix/KitKat/Snickers/something else.

So far, all the answers have been reasonable except for Three Musketeers and Payday. There's no way either of those are the best candy bar.

Kit Kat and Snickers of course are solid contenders. Heath/Skor/Toblerone are great, but I think (this is hard to articulate well) you sort of have to be in the mood for them, whereas a Kit Kat or Twix pretty much always hits the spot. Reeses Cups I will allow. Twix Peanut Butter is a separate answer. Caramello, Symphony, and a few others mentioned are also quite good.

At this point, I think it is really down to Twix, Kit Kat, and Snickers.

Twix and 3 Muskies were always my favorites. Frozen Snickers beats everything mentioned so far, but has an unfair advantage. I think Almond Joy should get an honorable mention. Reese's and Kit Kat are disqualified because...

"I get the Reese's candy bar. If you read that name Reese's that's an apostrophe S. Reese's apostrophe S at the end of that name. That means the candy bar is his. I didn't know that. Next time you're eating a Reese's candy bar and a guy named Reese comes by and says 'let me have that', you better hand it over. 'I'm sorry, Reese. I didn't think I'd ever run into you.'"

"The Kit Kat candy bar has the name "Kit Kat" imprinted in the chocolate. That robs you of chocolate. Kit Kat has come up with a clever chocolate saving technique. I'm gonna go down to the Kit Kat factory, and say 'Hey, you owe me some letters.'"

Milky Way with dark chocolate.

Heath are good. So is the classic Mr. Goodbar, except that they use low-grade peanuts.

Back in the Dark Ages when Zeno was a young lad we would get 'Mountian' candy bars. More like a lump of super creamy and sugar laced white filling covered with chocolate. I don't even know if they are still made. Great 'kid' candy bar.

[/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely. However, Butterfinger suffers from the same problem as Heath/Skor/etc. that I tried to describe above.

100 Grand bar was also mentioned. A solid contender, definitely.

One that doesn't qualify because it is no longer made is the Marathon bar. I believe the closest thing around now is Cadbury's Curly-Wurly. I'm also a big fan of the Cadbury's Dairy Milk, Fruit and Nut, etc., but that's starting to get away from what I really was going for in this thread. In fact, based on that, I disqualify Symphony from this thread, as it is a chocolate bar as opposed to a candy bar (arbitrary Diablo distinction). Toblerone gets the axe as well. Sorry.

I've also decided now that Reese's peanut butter cups do not qualify. Sorry. But if I let them in, then I need to start thinking about letting Rolo in. Rolo rules. And where does it stop? What about Whoppers? It's a slippery slope. Sorry, Reese's fans.

Oh, BTW, I love Cadbury Flake bars (also not qualified based on the clarified rules).

Twix
Snickers
Salted Nut Roll

Butterfinger
Baby Ruth
Caramello
Milky Way
Kit Kat
Three Musketeers

No others immediately come to my head and I intentionally didn't include Toblerone or other "gourmet" snooty type bars.

If I could only have one candy bar for the rest of my life, I would probably choose Snickers.

Other candy bars I pick up when in need of a junk food fix include WhatChaMaCallIt, Milky Way Midnight, Kit Kats, and Peanut Butter Twix.

I would usually take a bag of good gummi bears/gummi savers over most chocolate however.
