lately, i've seen more and more 6+ players left at lvl6.

usually 2 or 3 short stacks with 3bb or less.

then usually one of 4 things usually happen to the short stacks:
1) they get a hand and double up

2) sb folds to shortstacked bb because they don't have the cards and/or chips to waste. so shortstack keeps his blind and lives for another orbit to try to catch cards

3) they are down to 1.5bb and push with garbage as sb/bb and get lucky

4) they are down to 1.5bb and push with garbage as sb/bb and lose

i used to believe in stealing with marginal hands when desparate. but if called by a better hand, i'm usually out.

these short stacks have showned me that waiting for a hand till the bitter end is also viable.

What do you think?

If you have lost all FE then you should be

waiting for a hand till the bitter end.

What are your bitter end standards? T9+|22+?

Any hand if it's X limpers to you?

Do your bitter end standards change if there are 6, 5, 4 left?

I have a secret formula but I'm not telling you. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
Obviously...it depends.

I'll say this though:
Try blinding out.
Its a liberating experience.

Fixed your post.

If it's gonna look like a haiku, then just make it one. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

these short stacks chose to fold as button/sb instead of stealing.

they chose to give up FE and wait for a hand and to play to the bitter end.

is that better than trying to steal blinds???

I've done this before. And I concur, I think this is good advice.

At some tables, it might be, simply because you might have relatively low FE to start with. On average, I'm guessing it's not as good, because stealing blinds puts you less at the whim of the cards and is generally pretty doable.
