I am thinking about heading up to Atlantic City to hop in a live NL tournament... I was wondering how the competition is for these types of events and how long I can expect them to take... I am specifically looking at these tournaments. Let me know which ones you recommend, thanks! -Mike

FRIDAY N/L HOLD'EM $200 + $25 6:30pm @ Taj Mahal

Friday: 6:00 PM Buy-In $50+$15 @ Sands

Friday 4:15 No Limit Hold'em; $150 Buy-In & $20 Entry Fee; @ The Trop

EDIT: I've never played in a live tourney at a casino before.

I don't know about these different tournaments. However, if you have never played in a live tournament, I would try the one at the Sands at the lower buyin.

I thought the Sands had a $60 Wednesday tournament at 6 PM and a $100 Friday tournament at 9 PM. I would check that out.

Borgata also has a Friday afternoon tournament at 3 PM, which I think they are moving to an earlier time.

If you really want to play tournaments and don't mind risking two entry fees, you could play the afternoon one at Tropicana or Borgata and, if you don't last till real late in it, the 9 PM at Sands.

Thanks... To be honest i'm not too worried about never having played in one, as I play cash games there all the time and have adjusted to the live play... I'll check it out. I just had a couple pretty solid MTT online wins so I have the bank to check it out... heh.
