Reporting Obnoxious Opponents...

Quick question:

Does a player's stats influence your decision to report them for being rude/insulting at the table?

For example, would you be more willing to report someone who is a 17/11/2 instead of a 90/2/0, because you wouldn't mind if the former got banned while the latter showed up at one of your tables in the future?

I'm just hopping on the "reporting" bandwagon (reported my second one tonight), and was wondering what the rest of you thought.

It could probably get complicated when you consider how many poor players are offended by the perp, and whether reporting a super-donk perp would offset the risk of losing the rest at the table.

I'm probably reading too much into this.

When someone is being rude or whinning whenever they lose a hand, I get a good laugh. Infact I love it. Normally I'm playing too many games to focus on the chat, but when I see someone like that its funny as hell.

Only type of chat that bothers me is when some clown comes in telling everyone how to play correctly. Tapping the glass isn't cool. You know telling players A5o isn't good, that their kicker needs to be higher. Out kicking someone's hand is my bread and butter.

What are you reporting them for? You can't just report them for being annoying can you?

I threaten to report when a player starts suggesting a play to someone who is in a hand. For example, if I go all-in and the dumbass tells the other guy "he's bluffing, call him, trust me". It doesn't matter if I want the call or not, it's just god damn annoying.

Table coaching and telling people they suck is grounds for having someone's chat removed on most sites.

Don't get me wrong... I like to say kak-suggin-monkey-fuggin-azz-suggin-biatch along with the best of 'em, but this went beyond what is decent at a table. I figure many people would take offense to it.

C'mon...chill out...i get trash talk all the time and i never run to party/empire to report it. here is a sample of some trash talk i got a couple of days ago...the guy ticked me off a bit so i sat in on some of his tables which he didn't like (though he did actually come out ahead a bit from the sum total of our battles due to a major suckout on the river when we were both all in on a $100 NL table on the flop when I was way ahead... /images/graemlins/frown.gif...

The only kinds of chat I report are blatant cheating, spam, and poisonous chat that might drive other players away. And then I do it regardless of my opinion of the perp's level of play.
