The villian had been pushing with any 2, so I figured that I had the best hand, but that doesn't mean calling was the best play. So should I have folded and waited for a better spot or was this the correct play?

Are you playing to win or to finish in the money?

I always play to win, but finishing in the money would be a good thing as well.
