i'm not sure why i didn't raise the turn... think i was hoping to get a /images/graemlins/heart.gif on the river and have him bet into me...

i think i played this REALLY weak... confirm or not please?

yes, i'd say you need to find a new game. u really needed to raise preflop to figure out where you stand and define your hand. what did you put him on? tough lay down man.

If you need to tell someone they need to find a new game, you need to read up on SNG strategy first. Limping AQo in late position in level 1/2 is pretty standard here.

There isn't a lot of raising "to find out where you stand" in the early levels of a SNG. Weak-tight is a good thing at this stage.

I think you played the hand fine. I wouldn't call that huge overbet when the 4-straight hits. Actually, overbetting the pot all-in is exactly what I'd do if I held the jack myself, because people will often call without the straight. Don't be one of those people. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

agree with benny boy here, dont think you played it that badly at all...I think there are arguments for both limping or raising pf there both of which are valid. However, the hand itself played out badly but you didnt lose much in the process...not bad.

what about the turn play?... calling the 150?...

i'm not sure i would ever call that river bet no matter what anyone said... but do you think the call is ok?... or should i have been raising there?...

I would have raised pf and on the turn, but I think the way you played it is just fine. I hate giving free cards by just calling on the turn, but traping yourself with a raise and getting reraised on tbe turn would be really bad.

I would say to myself on the turn, "either I raise all in here, or I call and with a intentions of calling a push/pushing the river if anything but a Q falls" lol...I would only call the turn with a plan to get in on the river...unfortunately an awful card fell...you showed good discipline, but now you're a bit short.
