Do any of the strip hotels prohibit the use of IPods at the table?

I'd be interested in this as well. I'm east coast & play primarily at Borgata, where iPods are verboten. Something about cheating concerns...

I'm sure I've seen people wearing headphones at Borgata.

It's against the rules in AC. It depends who the floor is whether it's tolerated.

Mp3 Good-
Bellagio
Mirage
Palms (last I checked)
MGM Grand
Wynn (says they'll allow which Daniel N. is a huge headset wearer so I can't imagine them saying no.)

MP3 bad-
Mandalay Bay

Hope it helps, and GL

I wore mine at the Palms, and I guess the brush had never seen one before because he thought it was just about the coolest thing in the world.

If you're going to play at the Palms though, bring a smoke mask instead of earphones because the smoke gets pretty thick in there sometimes.

WTF is wrong with MAndalay? They didnt have enough rules on the wall to enforce, need one more? Or do they want everyone who gets kicked out to be witnessed correctly by the other customers?

i played at mandalay bay last summer and they had a rule that i didn't know about where if you put your chips in front of your cards that's a bet. why can't they just get a circle on the felt? and if you knock the table to indicate a check and you have a chip in your hand, that's a bet. ridiculous stuff.

What about beer helmets, sunglasses with eyes painted on them, overalls with no shirt, forehead tatoos of Satan, muddy combat boots or t-shirts that say "But They're Sooted." Anyplace OK with these?

IPODS are mandatory if you want to escape 8 hours of the guy next to you telling you how seat 4 is a "lucky" seat, theplayer in 1 is good at "catching cards, just watch" and why he doesnt play (insert your limit here) because at the higher limits its easier to win $ because the players play correctly.

You forgot about the guy saying that "Threes are on fire tonite". I think MP3 players are great...Ipods are horrible pieces of [censored] with crappy batterly life and Itunes is a POS. Creative Nomads are better /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Here in Tunica you can use your IPod in all the poker rooms but I played craps at Gold Strike one night after playing poker and was asked to take it off. No headphones, MP3 players, or cell phones on the tables or slots.

Mandalay has many irrational rules, but this isn't one of them. They are right next to the sports books. It is illegal to have electronic devices like cell phones and IPODs in the sports book area. Try playing at Bellagio and walking to the bathrooms in the sportsbook with your IPOD on. If someone sees you, you'll have to take them out. It ain't their fault -- it's the law.
