I think you have to here. Hope for the best. I had a very similar hand where I had 97s UTG with blinds about to take a big part of my stack the very next hand (they were going up.) I folded but I wish I would have pushed because I had almost no folding equity the rest of the way.

Not to "me,too" the previous poster but you hae to push that there. Its painful but the odds of seeing a better hand in the next two (or next five, ftm) are not great. Push and pray.

push this. Unless the BB has like 4000-5000 chips, you probably won't get called unless someone else has a premium hand. You have to think about what the other players are thinking. You push UTG for about 700. 700 will be a huge chunk of most other player's stacks, so they will need a premium hand to call you with. I push about any 2 when I have 3-4x the BB. When you are thinking about pushing in a situation like this, think what you would do if you were another player and someone pushed. What hands would you need to call?

i'd push here.

not to divert the discussion too much, but let's say that the stacks are the same as they are in the op's question, and that the big stack and bb are not known for being sherrifs. what's the worst hand you push with here? what's the best hand you fold and take the blind with?

I think this is borderline, and the only reason I'd push is because the blinds are going up.

FWIW, I've tried to cut down on my UTG pushes. One thing that eastbay's tool has taught me is that position is critical.
